the so-called tricentennial challenge, a legend among college track teams everywhere. only one man has ever completed it... in 79 hours.
inb4 "where's the proof." they had a twitter feed with pics, and it's hard to 100% monitor someone's life for 79 hours
inb4 "does he even lift." he's a distance runner. lifting would make him slower.

gotta fit in sleeping time as well. it's not as easy as it sounds. on average, the guy ran a marathon every day while having 30 beers/day in him. running more than 3 marathons in 4 days is hard. doing it wasted? good luck brah.

10 miles in the morning, 14 at night
12 beers post morning run, eat & nap, 12 beers post night run... sleep and repeat for 4 days
honestly does not seem that hard, would try if i was still in my collegiate track shape and had nothing to do for 4 daysanother quality thread by wssicks

I can't say with certainty, as I am just getting into triple digit weeks myself (and taking that shyt SLOW), but I'd imagine it's a lot harder in practice than in theory. you're a track guy, so you know that accumulated workouts get harder and harder, and taking a hard day or two in a row is no big deal, but bad for you by 4 in a row. I'd imagine that 30 beers / 30 miles per day has a similar effect.
the beauty of the challenge is how far drinking and running are from each other, in terms of being good at them. to be able to run 100 miles in 4 days at ANY pace, you have to run a lot in training, which makes you thin, which makes you less efficient at holding alcohol. to hold alcohol, it's better to weigh more, which will certainly land you in a hospital bed with all sorts of problems if you try to run too much.
lol. the 5'10 115 lb kenyans and ethiopians who are running sub-2:05 marathons (and trust me, nobody else is) would probably die of alcohol poisoning before the first day ended.former track runner crew

I think many of you guys are discounting the difficulty of running 100 miles in 4 days. there was another, so-called "fat guy" who tried to do the challenge with the skinnier "fast guy" depicted in the vid. fat guy got about 40 miles in the week, but handled his drink better. "fat guy" was a regular runner and still ended up destroyed.former track runner crew

agreed that 100 miles in 4 days would be hell on your body but i believe it would not be a problem for someone who trains at 70-90 miles / week.
1) you're not training, you can slow your pace down considerably
2) runners at such a high weekly mileage don't necessarily become overtrained or injured from 1 week of high miles, it's more of the compounding week after week of 70-100 miles
we should try this op, the more i think about it the more fun it soundsanother quality thread by wssicks

I would try, but
1. I am under 21 (18), so wouldn't be able to publicize/brag about results if I did complete it
2. I am a former 400m guy who is still unable to handle triple digit weeks. I've been chilling at 70 for a little while and slowly raising it, and I ran a 102 mile week last week, but I did it all at 8:30+ per mile and am tired as hell every day.
3. at 5'4 125 lbs, I am not the best drinker myself. I am gaining weight, but I am trying to do it while running high(ish) mileage, which is a SLOW process
give me a year to acclimate to the mileage and to age a little bit and gain some weight, and I would gladly try it with you.
will get you on r/c. if you attempt any time soon, PLEASE keep me posted. it would be amazing
