If they taste good to you, why not?

Your body says this, "Fat is important. Carbohydrates are important. Protein is important. I break them down and will use them to fuel and construct my cells"
“It is not so much the major events as the small day-to-day decisions that map the course of our living. . . Our lives are, in reality, the sum total of our seemingly unimportant decisions and of our capacity to live by those decisions.” ― Gordon B. Hinckley

Black beans rock. A lot of fiber too.

Be careful with the carb nazis in here. You say rice and they might come out in force. I eat brown rice myself (small serving).

I'm thinking of doing black beans and rice for breakfast and lunch, and then chicken or ground beef for dinner. with some veggies of course

I don't use black beans, but I do eat red kidney beans often. They are a great slow digesting source of carbs and fiber. I cook the beans into a veggie chili and use it as a side dish for my meals. I even use the chili as a filling for omelettes.
Some people just don't want to hear the simplicity of it all, because then there's no excuse when they fail.

Anything is fine, just be wary about measuring rice....you can undo a cardio/lifting session on accident should you not measure the stuff properly.
Might as well throw in a tortilla and some chikkin or steak and make a poor mans chipotle burrito.
There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

One of my favorite cutting meals is a can of black beans mixed wt a can of tuna. Very bland , but it seriously has to be the most satiating/appetite surpressing ~420 calories ever.

I vote yes. Anything with fiber helps someone not feel full. Just look at my picture I'm sort of skinny and I eat like an elephant.

Those must be some small cans of beans, most cans of beans are ~520kcal. Tuna cans are usually 200-300.

LOL Wrong. The cans I buy are clearly labeled at 105 cals a serving with 3 servings in each. LOL a regular can of tuna in water is ~100 calories bro. You must either buy the big cans or buy the tuna in oil.

Thanks for chiming in champ, but I got this under controll.

Relax dude, didnt say you were wrong just that "most" are higher. The tuna I buy is water packed. 120g drained (170g packed) dont remember the exact calories off hand but its something like 180 per can.

Sir Mix-A-Lot has stated that RED beans and rice might allow you to become little in the middle but you will still have a lot of "back". I don't know if this applies to black beans, or if this phenomenon takes place in the context of hitting appropriate overall calorie and macronutrient targets.

I eat at least a 1/2 cup of black beans every day and I'm on a cut. Just try to get the reduced sodium ones and rinse them. They are great for keeping you full. Also try pinto, great northern and fat free refried beans...all great choices
    How's your burger, bro?

But fat levels in Asia are better than the west and they eat tonnes of rice.

I don't think rice is a problem. It's the fatty meat, sweet or creamy sauces, and cheese which often goes on top. IMHO.

Its NOT THE FOOD you eat necessarily, its the calories. I ate rice every single day during my cut (my wife is Japanese, there is always freshly cooked rice in my house). I just measured it out (usually a 150g serving was enough for me) and made sure it fit within my daily caloric target.
