The truth is sooooo strong. Obviously knows what he's talking about.
Almost all of my "favorite" crew members have been prior MXS. They understand both spectrums and help the MX guys out. I've actually had an A/C on a mission go out of his way and ask if I wanted a sandwich. It was awesome lol. Kinda weird having a major cook you dinner over AFG. Lol.
Worst ones have been academy/NPS junior o's lol. Go figure.

Not my year but I scored 75 on the PFE and 81 on the SKT. A bad EPR killed me and the higher cutoff was a kick in the junk.

wow brahs, I have never felt this chitty before. been training for my pt for 2 months just to make sure I would have no problems in passing. had my run time down to an easy 12:30(yea I know still not good), but started getting shin splints last week. ran this tuesday easily passing the run with a 12:30 yet again, but shin splints were kinda bad. what ever, had my pt test today and figured I had a full min of leeway time even if they act up. brb max waist, 65 pushups, max situps. brb shin splints so bad I didn't make it past lap 3 on the run. I tried to walk it off to no avail, but the guys giving out the test were adamant in sending me to the ER instead of just letting me take a fail.
my leadership has seen me getting ready for the test on top of my normal weight routine so they are behind me 100% in getting a retest with no fail. still feel like a sack of turds though. I should've been able to push through and finish

Man...
This is a mess guys. We only had 3 promoted in our 800 person squadron. No one in MX is getting promoted anymore lol.
Another note, we had a little "come to Jesus meeting" this morning, apparently there was one airman who had an issue with coming into work half an hour early to work...
He has an even bigger issue with working a NINE (Yes, complaining about 9 hours) work day, not taking 40 minute smoke breaks, and making appointments at times that minimally affects duty hours.
His last supervisor and our last NCOIC just kept writing paperwork... And now I am stuck with an airman that our flight chief thinks we "have it out for" and "Are picking on" him.
You guys who just made master, How do you deal with airmen who just don't belong in the military, but we can't get rid of them.Starting weight- May 14 2011- 184

I didn't just make E-7 but . . . Don't give up on the kid. Find out what motivates him (if anything) and go from there. Also, see if there are underlying issues. Give him additional responsibility and make him take a leadership role of some sort. But don't just task him and leave him. Coach him along, and don't direct. I got a dude that used to slack non-stop. But we figured out what he was good at/enjoyed doing (radios and comm equip). Now he is our team SME. It may not work for your dude, but try.
In the meantime; make the paper trail longer. Document everything. If you can't fix him, you will at least have enough justification to deny reenlistment or possibly boot him out.
Being a lazy, worthless supervisor is easy. That is why so many are. Being is good/great supervisor is hard."Out of every one hundred men, ten shouldn't even be there, eighty are just targets, nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. You get sent to fat camp. Then retest a couple months later. Fail the second time, then there might be consequences. Usually not. It is up to the individual's commander. Fail a third time, then you might be looking a getting booted. 4th failure in a row; bye.
Most people got to the doctor and get put on some sort of waiver for some magical, made up condition. I don't want to give up on him. I sat down and talked to my airmen today (I have 3) and we talked about expectations of the section. I told them yesterday was the last "freebie" day and we are starting over. Everything we talked about was basic stuff that we should have been doing in the first place (Things like not using smokeless tobacco in the office, being on time to work, not taking 2 hours to eat lunch, Etc.)
I have greater issues with this individual, but I am trying to give him a second chance. He makes his appointments around lunch time, takes an hour lunch, and has 4 2-3 hour appointments a week (Physical therapy and mental health. He goes to mental health because our flight chief thinks he has ADD)
Today I told them all if they have an appointment that will take more then 2 hours to bring their lunch. working a 25 hour week because of appointments is unacceptable to me. (My toddler has therapy 4 times a week and I still manage to work a 40+ hour week)
There are other things that I am letting go. I said we are starting over. I am at the point where we are going to "assume you know nothing(not in a patronizing manner), and I will teach or reteach you everything"
I want to help him. I really want these guys to flourish, coming off the flight line I give them every chance to use duty time to volunteer, go to Seminars and classes, take CLEPS and use the time we have to do things they otherwise could not. But only one of them takes advantage of it.
I have to write new 931's for them.
Edit: I just came off of maternity leave on Monday, so this whole mess is new to me. I noticed how lackadaisical they had become in the first day.Starting weight- May 14 2011- 184
