    Post workout pump

during and after all of our workouts, the muscle we exercise that day is filled with blood and feels great and full.

for myself personally, my arms are great size and i wish they were like that all the time. but a few hours/next day after the workout it's back to being pretty small.

i'm not sure what i'm trying to ask, but any comments or inputs or thought on post workout pump?

Is the goal of every workout to make the muscle feel extremely tight and full after the workout? Is that a good sign of a good workout?

What you're experiencing is perfectly natural.

I can't tell you what the goal of your workout is as this depends on your overall goals.

Personally my goals are to keep progressing in strength & power. At the moment I don't train to obtain a pump in a certain muscle although it's a nice suprise sometimes!

This harmless symptom is commonly referred to as PPD (Post Pump Depression). During the moments after a blood engorging workout, the bodybuilder's pump starts to fade and depression may occupy the mind.
