What to eat for the last meal of the night?

I usually eat a sweet potato, tuna and a salad, think holding out on the sweet potato and eating that earlier is a better idea and just eat protein for the last meal?

I eat whatever I need to in order to get my daily numbers. Don't fear the carbs before bed stuff brother, it's been disproven. Just make sure you get your protein, fats, and carbs for the day by the end of the day. Timing intake beyond that should be done only as it's convenient to match your daily life.

I will typically eat 1/2 - 1 tub of cottage cheese depending on my caloric intake for the day up to that point.

I usually have something simple to get my macro targets. Often it's a measured amount of whey to get my protein requirements. Last night it was two crackers to make my carb and calorie target.

A 'better' idea is to eat whatever and how much ever you need in order to meet your day's P/C/F requirements. The names of the food don't have anything to do with body composition; eat what you enjoy, within your 'requirement' parameters.
    No brain, no gain.

    You can't out-train bad nutrition.

Speaking of egg whites, I eat 5 for breakfast with cheese and what toast but I need some meat to go with that so I got some turkey franks but it's 21% sodium each lol.

You guys eat any saugase or any beef to go with your egg whites?

My meals are such that I can easily make substitutions and stay on target with my macros, getting the majority of my carbs early in the day. Thus sometimes I'll cut the egg whites to 3 and make an omelet with 4 oz of 93/7 turkey, 1/8 cup of diced bell pepper and 1/8 cup of diced tomato for my bedtime snack.

well i usually do carb cycling so on my high days i usually have carbs on my last meal, but other than that i usually have all my carbs in my earlier meals and just do protein and healthy fats before bed like peanut or almond butter. so it really depends on your intake in my opinion. if you're intake requires you to have those carbs at that time then yeah have them man, but if you're able to have them earlier in the day i would probably recommend you do that and have protein and fats before bed.

My typical last meal of the night is also my post-workout meal...peanut butter and Nutella sangwich on multigrain bread with a big glass of milk.

    Fat, protein, and carbs!

It's a carryover from posting in the 'nutrition' forum. The "rate my diet" thread-posters in there seem to think that if they eat certain foods, it will all go to either building muscle or losing body fat (depending on the particular goal of the poster). There's rarely mention of deficit/surplus calorie levels, or gram-amounts of macros. Just "chicken, brown rice, and broccoli, 8 meals a day."
    No brain, no gain.

    You can't out-train bad nutrition.

Where the mind goes, the body follows.

I like to eat some ground turkey with asparagus. The last meal really helps me get to bed.
