BIG 12 Basketball thread...

Now that conference play has started lets talk Big 12 Basketball....


Baylor and Mizzou are looking good at 14-0. The both have a conference win....MU beating OK by almost 40pts last night was impressive. I think Kansas is going to have a tough game against KState tonight but I think they will win. The main reason I give Kansas the edge is because its at Allen Fieldhouse. Robinson is a beast but the rest of the team has been inconsistant (reference the Davidson game).

Its hard to tell who will win the conference this year. I think it will be Baylor, Mizzou, or Kansas.

Going into this season and looking at our roster, i would have been getting to the NCAA tourny, but the way we've played in non-conference play makes me think we'll make some noise in the Big 12, maybe even be a dark horse

Im a hardcore Mizzou fan. I didnt say that in my original post because I figured the thread would turn into a flame war with KU fans. Size is definitely going to hurt the Tigers this year. Not having Bowers is rough....hopefully Ratliff and Moore can stay healthy. On the other hand....we have some of the best guards in the nation and theyre shooting lights out. Hopefully they can keep it up. The Kstate game should be exciting on saturday. Manhattan is a tough place to play.

It was good to see a sold out crowd....I wish I wouldve been there. Oklahoma has been playing very well. They had only lost 2 games coming into the game last night. Mizzou pretty much played a perfect game.

I think KState is the biggest surprise in the Big 12 this year. I'll be rooting for them tonight against the Jayhawks.

KU, very inconsistent. It's nice watching T-Rob and seeing him get some recognition for POY. We're good when we're on, just hope come March we can figure things out.

KU will be great at home this year..as usual....I think its the road games that are going to kill them. Tyshawn "turnover" Taylor needs to get it together also. I still think they have a good chance of winning the conference if they can stay consistant.

McClemore and Traylor being ruled ineligible hurt bad. As you can see, starting a walkon Conner Teahan doesn't say much for KU. The next 2 years could be big for KU and their recruiting classes.

This. Every team has its faults. So far our biggest fault is we have no star power, every game is somebody different stepping up and taking over. lack of a consistent player at any position will hurt us at some point. luckily we probably have deepest bench in the big 12. we can sub all 5 and not see much of a drop off

OU is that bad. A&M is pretty bad too. We basically had practice the 2nd half so the score kind of lies. Not sure what to make of Texas, but they are certainly capable of making the tourney.

Anyone know what is going on with Okstate? They had a good recruiting class but have been awful thus far. Haven't had a chance to watch them as I am busy many activities within my community.

this is not new, he's been very turnover prone. But KU would be lifeless without him as well. He's incredibly quick with the ball and is a tough kid. Dude played with a torn meniscus in December.

Next big game is MU and Kstate. What's everyone's thoughts? I think MU loses by 6. While we have started off well, they will have to go out and win a big time road game before I can seriously consider them to win these types of games.

Idk man I feel good about that game for us because so many people will be at the Cotton Bowl. The place should be about 2/3 or less full which makes me feel a lot better.
