The Muslim holy month of Ramadhan is coming up soon and I will be fasting from approx. 4am to 5pm. I'm taking this opportunity to start my cutting cycle. Since this is the supplement forum, I will focus on that rather than the actual food I'll be consuming. I plan on doing the following:
Pre-fast: High-Protein meal + whey protein + lean green
Post fast: whey protein + sesathin + MAN Scorch + meal (not sure if I should take Scorch here) followed by lean green
2 hours later: MAN Scorch + MAN Clout
30 mins later: workout + cardio (Xtend)
Post workout: Xtend + Bulk CEE
Post post workout: Post workout shake
Prior to bed meal: High-protein meal + whey
I'll be taking Scorch twice daily, Clout once and Xtend during and post with Bulk CEE.
Its my first time taking supplements while fasting and I wanted to know if the above was a good plan. It may not be the best plan but I want to make the best of the month.
Any input would be appreciated..

My supplementation plan (while fasting)

A simple, effective plan would be as follows:
During fasting hours: Copious amounts of water + Scorch and Lean Green
During workout: Xtend
Post workout: Post workout shake + CEE/Clout
Then a huge Dinner w/sesathin then sleep.
The fasting hours activate cAMP, a hormone related substance that up-regulates your body's ability to incorporate protein into muscle tissue, improves GH output etc..
The overeating phase activates cGMP, a hormone related substance that triggers uptake of amino acids, carbohydrates and fatty acids into muscle.
One phase potentiates the other. Staying in one phase too long down regulates the body's sensitivity to that phase (i.e. bulking phases that last too long lead to greater and greater fat deposition). An excellent book on this subject is "Maximum Muscle, Minimum Fat" by Ori Hofmekler. See WarriorDiet.com for details.
I think after you tweak things a bit, you'll be very happy with the progress you can make on this type of diet.

I know it's a pain in the ass but MAN Scorch is made with gelatin caps so arn't really compatable with a Muslim diet. Not really sure if there are any gelatin free alternative either...

I forgot to mention that fasting means no food or water.. so I can't take anything in between..
I was thinking of the EC stack.. I just ordered it for a friend of mine, but scorch seems to be a good product that works well with clout.. i was thinking i'd run that cycle first then switch to an EC stack (vasopro + higher power caffeine)..

Add Lean Xtreme to suppress catabolism and some sort of appetite suppressant such as synephrine to control hunger pangs.

Salaams, my Broz, It's definetely great to know that there are so many muslim bodybuilders on-site.
Check out the links below for other forums dealing with this topic as well:

Just remember, if our teenbodybuilder Moslem can fast and be a pro, you have no excuse not to fast.
Ramadan is around the corner, it will be on the 4th or 5th of October, that's only 16 or 17 more days.
I would recommend bulking up now, and during Ramadhan maintain it with 3 to 4 exercise days per week, 15-30g of glutamine (I would say 10g w/ suhur, 10g after workout), do not exercise at your maximum intensity, do not exercise for over 1hour. Eat every 2 hours after iftaar.
Make sure you eat at least 1 cup of oats in the morning, one cup of cottage cheese, and a tablespoon of flax seed oil (or eat some other EFAs). This trio will greatly help in slowing down digestion.
I have been into Shaolin karate all my life and endurance training, so I'm still new to bulking, so I don't know everything, I stand to be corrected, but so far this seems to be working for others
Peace ,!

Salam ale ku'
I would highly recommend a combo of Glutamine Peptides at around 50 grams and another 50 grams or so of casein protien
drink that in the am with Milk and add some Peanut butter or Flax oil to slow absorption even more
results?: curbed appetite, protection against musle loss, and good slow burning energy
also take 15 mg of Synephrine at around 10 and another cap at 2
that will take care of cravings at midday
however I believe that as a religiuos faster par tof the fast is fighting the hunger so you may want to not take synephrine and rely on your will aloneLast edited by TheOMEGA; 09-18-2005 at 07:58 AM.

more power to you guys............AKOONA MATODA, brother.

Regarding the bro who asked about alternatives to flax oil, other healthy oils that will have the same prolonging digestion effect are olive oil, peanuts (raw or peanut oil), sunflower seeds (raw or oil).
Also, has anyone every tried using Glutamine at 40g and above for maintaining mass during Ramadhan and succeeded?
Thanks,

Also, Casein protein is cottage cheese derived, and any whole food will dissolve slower than a protein powder (including casein protein). 1/2 cup of 1% (or skim, I can't remember) cottage cheese is equal to 15g in protein, and 1 cup and 2/3rds is equal to 50g of protein in case you are willing to take that route. This is my suggestion to eat a cup of cottage cheese or more is a food rather than drink the casein protein.
Peace,
