meditation is great (srs). everytime i have done it i never said, "sh!t i regret meditating". i usually get a calmness along with a strong motivated energy, similar to drinking green tea (for me). i know i should be meditating daily i just get distracted, which i'm sure is a sign of a weakness in my personality. i will try my best to start meditating again. and just a FYI you don't have to start off doing 30 min meditations...you should start off with 5 or 10 mins, or whatever and work your way up...at least that's what i've read.

glad to see this thread on the misc (srs)

It is based on the idea that trying to force yourself to relax SIMPLY does not work.

You cannot force yourself to relax. You need to create an environment where relaxation and deep focus is absolutely natural.

Dynamic Meditation lasts one hour and is in five stages. It can be done alone, and will be even more powerful if it is done with others. It is an individual experience so you should remain oblivious of others around you and keep your eyes closed throughout, preferably using a blindfold. It is best to have an empty stomach and wear loose, comfortable clothing.

“This is a meditation in which you have to be continuously alert, conscious, aware, whatsoever you do. Remain a witness. Don’t get lost. While you are breathing you can forget. You can become one with the breathing so much that you can forget the witness. But then you miss the point.

“Breathe as fast as possible, as deep as possible; bring your total energy to it but still remain a witness. Observe what is happening as if you are just a spectator, as if the whole thing is happening to somebody else, as if the whole thing is happening in the body and the consciousness is just centered and looking.

“This witnessing has to be carried in all the three steps. And when everything stops, and in the fourth step you have become completely inactive, frozen, then this alertness will come to its peak.” Osho

    First Stage: 10 minutes

Breathe chaotically through the nose, concentrating always on exhalation. The body will take care of the inhalation. The breath should move deeply into the lungs. Be as fast as you can in your breathing, making sure the breathing stays deep. Do this as fast and as hard as you possibly can – and then a little harder, until you literally become the breathing. Use your natural body movements to help you to build up your energy. Feel it building up, but don’t let go during the first stage.

    Second Stage: 10 minutes

Explode! Express everything that needs to be thrown out. Go totally mad. Scream, shout, cry, jump, shake, dance, sing, laugh; throw yourself around. Hold nothing back; keep your whole body moving. A little acting often helps to get you started. Never allow your mind to interfere with what is happening. Be total, be whole hearted.

    Third Stage: 10 minutes

With raised arms, jump up and down shouting the mantra, “Hoo! Hoo! Hoo!” as deeply as possible. Each time you land, on the flats of your feet, let the sound hammer deep into the sex center. Give all you have; exhaust yourself totally.

    Fourth Stage: 15 minutes

Stop! Freeze wherever you are, in whatever position you find yourself. Don’t arrange the body in any way. A cough, a movement – anything will dissipate the energy flow and the effort will be lost. Be a witness to everything that is happening to you.

    Fifth Stage: 15 minutes

Celebrate through dance, expressing your gratitude towards the whole. Carry your happiness with you throughout the day.
The beauty of this method is that once you go through stages 1-3, relaxed focus will come very naturally, nothing will feel forced, you will enter a state of meditation rather than forcing yourself to focus.

BTW for the "freeze" portion I would recommend lying down or sitting in a comfortable position.
When all that says 'it is good' has been debunked, what says 'I want' remains.

In on this. Several years back meditation actually saved me from crippling depression - SSRI's and therapy were only bandaids, meditation actually cured me.

I've been getting lazier about it over the past 2-3 years and low and behold, general anxiety has been getting worse and worse.

I've never used Schumann waves or anything of the sort, though it seems interesting. As a skeptical hippo, can someone aware me of some actual scientific studies on it?

    Best meditation is with weed.

When I first started smoking my mind would go ballistic, I had extreme anxiety and could not control my thoughts. I stuck with it and know I can completely control my mental state when high, it has worked wonders for my sober mindset and anxiety as well.

When you are high, you can feel the anxiety throughout your body. You can feel how it affects your muscles, how it tightens up you through, neck, and mouth, making it hard to speak, how it tights your legs and arms making you move awkward.

During anxiety your body is in a heightened state, taking note of everything around you (the rapid thoughts/overthinking), and your body is tense and ready to attack or flee. Your mind is rapidly creating danger scenarios so you can think of ways to defend against them. All of this takes you "out of it," your consciousness is noticeable altered when under anxiety.

When you are relaxed you feel like you are flowing naturally, moving with comfort and ease. Your mind is focused on the "now," the outside world as it is and not the paranoid scenarios your mind creates when under anxiety. You notice things more and do not get aggravated. My eyesight is even better when relaxed. Your perspective shifts from a defensive "what if" doomsday outlook, to a open IDGAF mindset of calmness.

You can control your mind by focusing/meditating, but you can feel it a lot more when high, like training your mind in a hyperbolic time chamber.

When you are 100% confident and focused, you achieve flow, the in the zone feeling athletes get, the untouchable alphaness, the automatic instinct.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flow_(psychology)

Non of this is mystical or religious bullshiit, just how your body and mind change when under anxiety compared to confident relaxation.

Lame. I played soccer in high school, still depressed as ****, and for me I find meditation much more effective than exercise. And having a positive attitude in life is not something you can automatically take control of, you're just faking it and it will just make you more miserable.

    In for later.

I actually have an appointment to use a sensory deprivation tank next weekend.
…we have not spent the last 65 million or so years finely honing our physiology to watch Oprah. Like it or not, we are the product of a very long process of adaptation to a harsh physical existence, and the past couple centuries of comparative ease and plenty are not enough time to change our genome. We humans are at our best when our existence mirrors, or at least simulates, the one we are still genetically adapted to live. And that is the purpose of exercise. - Mark Rippetoe

You guys are missing out if you don't pursue awakening Kundalini -MDMA on steroids
So to begin with i started doing cosmic cobra breath about a year ago.

You can google the info not too hard really , pretty much trivial breathing excercise.

And somehow like two weeks ago i had epiphany to read upon sexual magick , so i just realized that the most simple way to practice sex magick/tantric yoga is to masturbate to porn gambling till the sensations of orgasm start to initiate and then stop.

Two days after i could masturbate furiously without ejaculation with full hard on.

And now just two days ago i couldn't fall asleep after edging furiously , the heat came to my crown and it is still burning two days after.

It is hard as **** to fall asleep when you have this constant bliss lighting in your crown.

    I don't think i ever felt better , this **** is amazing.

Don't care if you don't care brahs , just want to share how amazing this **** is...above and beyond any stimulants coke/mdma or other ****.

If you have any doubts google kundalini awakening bliss/ecstasy...

May bliss come on to you brahs

I meet this women once that meditated for 12 hours a day (srs) she was as crazy as a cut snake but she was incredibly head strong and was actually pretty amazing to talk to. She did it so much to find her self and to explore her inner self.

Meditating for just 5 - 10 minutes itself does wonders the focus and that feeling you get afterwards is insane and also you feel heaps better physically.

Thank god iv got a study period at school right now, I'm going to go meditate.

Ok can someone in the know give me advice? would be appreciated

You sit still in a comfortable position, eyes closed, deep slow breaths for ~20 minutes and clear your mind, separating your consciousness from your body and thoughts/emotions.

Is there anything you would add/change?
