Why I hate pitbulls and their owners...

I hate pitbulls and their owners..... I started a thread the other day because I am buying a dog and I stated I have a child and all the ignorant pitbull owners were still acting like pits are the nicest dogs..... OK, even a rotweiller doesnt account for half the attacks pitbulls rack up.

To understand the experience of owning a negatively perceived dog, Tufts Center for Animals and Public Policy did a case study on pit bull owners that was published in 2000. Researchers found that with "outlaw" breeds, such as pit bulls, the human-dog relationship is sociologically more complex than previously known. Owners of pit bulls, they discovered, directly feel the stigma targeted at their breed and resort to various tactics to mitigate it. These strategies included:

"passing their dogs as breeds other than pit bulls, denying that their behavior is biologically determined, debunking adverse media coverage, using humor, emphasizing counter-stereotypical behavior, avoiding stereotypical equipment or accessories, taking preventive measures, or becoming breed ambassadors."1

Most pit bull attacks if not all occur in cities or apartment areas where the owners do not exercise their pit bulls. This in cause allows them to build up energy/aggression which is probably going to be used in a negative manner.

It is not the dog, it is the owners. They don't give the dog room to run

the only true pitbulls are American Pitbull terriers and Staffoshire terriers. The akc wouldnt accept pitbulls due to their harsh name so the breed split. you have the game variety and the show variety

Why don't pit bull haters do some research before posting nonsense?

- The breed is bred to NOT be human aggressive. They're bred to be dog aggressive. Huge difference
- A Purebread APBT is the most human friendly dog out there. No other dog compares when it comes to loyalty.
- The dog was historically known to be "Granny" dog because they were great with kids
- ANY dog could be trained to be unstable and violent towards human. YES, Pitbull owners are at fault.
- Pitbull/pitbull mix is the MOST common breed out there in the States, hence the number of "bite" account is higher than other dogs
- Lots of "bite" account are not recorded for other breeds. FACT.
- Pitbull bite is nothing compared to a Rott and German Shepherd. No such thing as lock jaws.
