Dude you are extremely inspiring. I was just in awe at your conditioning and musculature in the last episode. Great freaking job man! You got really far considering how heavy you are in comparison to most of the other competitors.

thanks guys. Speaking of looking scary, watch the vid below. It's one clip I'm glad I didnt make from the show.

Show doesn't always look so easy.

You can get the episode's HD version on Amazon for $1.99 Click me for Amazon link

Otherwise the only vid I've seen with my run in it is blurry and played at 1.5x speed (below)

    My run starts at 11:57

Awesome Chris! Everything, the course run, the cause, the Michaelangelo's David physique plowing thru the obstacles!

Finally had a night where me and the boys could watch the recording together and you delivered. It was great they did their full feature on you this time. The announcers said great stuff too.

    1. Where you tipped off they would feature you this time?

    2. What time was your run? What was your diet/training prep a few days before and on that day compared to others?

    3. Weren't you flirting with 160's? Why did you go for 171?

    4. How's the focus when you get up there? Does the crowd, announcers, camera's fade away and it's silent? Was it less distracting the 2nd time?

    5. How has your diet and training shifted as you're now in the thick of it? Or do you just keep doing what got you there? Have you learned any cool tricks technique wise from the other competitors? Something that made you go "aha" I'm going to do that.

I knew they were planning on spotlighting me but wasn’t sure when that would air.

IDK what my time was, midnight maybe?
I ate the same as always, even had a couple Reese cups before both qual and finals runs. IIFYM

No, never wanted to be below 170. 171 seems to be about the threshold where I begin to really trade strength for weight. I didn’t want to get any weaker or less durable. For all around athleticism, 180-185 is my sweet spot, only my grip benefits from being lighter.

I’m pretty focused on course. There were only a few times where I really noticed the crowd noise enough to think about it. During the log runner, I must have been focused as I don’t even remember the crossings.

Diet is the same as always.

Training is what it is, since I don’t have access to an obstacle course gym, I’m stuck doing the same old improvisational stuff.

I learned pre workouts are bad. Essentially anything that encourages a muscle pump just plain sucks on course. as it makes your fingers/forearms pump out and burn that much more.

There are a lot of things I’d do differently given the chance sure, but most of them involve access to training implements that I don’t have.

I've followed this through my absence from the forum and can't wait to see the Vegas performance!
I could only reiterate the previous comments less gracefully, so I'll leave it there for now.

Too bad your final run wasn't aired. You had a great run making it to Vegas your first year in competing.... and from what I have read you were pretty close to finishing stage 1. Congrats on the 12k for the kids too... I know that was the most important part.

Looking forward to seeing you run again next year

Thanks guys. With a little luck, maybe you'll see more of me next season.

In the mean time, I'm trying to heal my shoulder up and work on my weak points.

oh and as always, a little playing around...

I'd last about 5 seconds doing that and it would all end in tears! That's some amazing balance and stability. Looking shredded and big .... are you back at 180 Chris?

184 today. A pound or two of that is definitely fat but a good chunk is creatine/water/glycogen.

I seem to heal better at 9-10% so a little pudgier than my norm but with purpose. Once the shoulders on point, it'll come back off.
