You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

I will have to post some of my york KG plates once my post count gets up high enough. They are only standard sized but some people might enjoy them.
I recently sold off all my standard plates to upgrade to Olympic sized stuff, but after having read so many pages of this thread I just had to hold on to all the york stuff.

Yes, it's a fair price and I should mention that skrebs and I have both traded/done business with the seller. But if you get into York stuff you will find that you can often get it cheaper than you would be paying the seller. Remember that you're paying for convenience. Spend enough time scouring craigslist ads and you'll find a whole lot of interesting and unusual York Barbell equipment, often for next to nothing.
In addition to Jim, the seller in the York area, there are a couple of dealers who flip gear in Maryland (I'm not including MUTASAN because he is a collector and user of gear who also sells gear), a dealer in Richmond (Tony) and one dealer in Delaware (Charlie). For guys who don't have the time to track down specific items, they may be the answer. Again, you're going to pay for the convenience. You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Normally I defer to the man holding the knife in his mouth, but this topic is close to my loins, and I couldn't let it go. Cheers.

I've been on the hunt since...well, who am I kidding, I'm always on the hunt.
On craigslist, I usually have certain search terms: squat|olympic|weight|weights|gym|exercise|barbell| dumbbell|dumbell|barbbell|barbells|dumbbells|dumbe lls|barbbells
Occasionally I search for "York", but I have found that this gets me a lot of EVERYTHING York related, and there are several York companies making things other than exercise equipment.
Anyhow, today I was bored and simply checked the entire Sporting Good category, and I'm glad I did!
After a beautiful 2 hour round-trip drive in Vermont, I got Four 45s and two 35s which had been listed as "Plates".
$100.
They didn't have any "USA" stamps on the hub, so I guess that dates them as being older ones
They were all milled except for one of the 45s, which was odd. It had "wrinkles" instead.
This guy WAS milled, but also had a little "wrinkle".
I'm psyched not only to have more weight so I can have dedicated Dead lift set up, but I'm glad to have one of each pair of 35s, with the numbers going clockwise and counter-clockwise.
Now I'm up to ten York 45s, and four 35s.Last edited by Vermonter; 03-30-2013 at 04:43 PM.

I've been through York,Pa probably 10 times...But i've always been in the BIG truck driving by at 70 mph seeing the building off Highway 83... Never stopped in though... I was thinking I/we could stop there when I was driving the family to Florida a few years ago... My old lady gave me THAT look when I mentioned York Barbell is close by ;-o she asked me if I was serious ???? Ummm yes dear I am serious.... So what do you expect for me and the girls to do while your looking at stupid weights ??? Lets just say I didn't bother to even ask why she didn't wanna go.... I knew.
