You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Are the standard 75s of interest or just the olympic? I don't need the plates but I thought it might be of interest to someone. He has four 75s for 30 cents a pound... the photo isn't very big but it looks like York.

Picked up this single deep dish today. Guy said he got 25-30 years ago from someone else. Why no numbers?

I'm at the York factory yesterday to pick up about 1500lbs of plates for a fire house. It is freezing out. I back the truck into the warehouse and I let the shipper load the truck (I usually help him) but I was distracted by a pallet of bars going to the UK. Anyway... The shipper comes back and says "Good to go". He opens the door and I pull out and jump on the highway headed towards Muscle Driver Canada for another pick up.
At some point I look in the rear view mirror and see the car behind me swerving all over the place. I think "What's up with this guy?". Then I notice these black discs skipping across the asphalt. "What the hell are those things?"... uh oh.
Turns out I bought 800lbs of plates for myself. Luckily I didn't kill anyone. The tailgate was not closed. It was just held closed by my tonneau cover.

The only thing hurt was my pride as I did the walk of shame down the road picking up plates and then reversing to do it again. I got lucky. I know about the tonneau thing (it grips the gate but you need to push it closed until you feel it latch) but I was distracted and didn't check it. It could have been a disaster. I still don't understand why the guy behind me continued to stay in my lane and dodge the plates (Maybe because my truck is a Dodge?) It's like he was playing James Bond and dodging 45lb bombs.

Anyone know the last year that York manufactured a globe style dumbbell? It might be in some of the histories already published, but I haven't checked.

I don't know about you guys but I cringe every time I see these pinch blobs that people make but cutting up roundheads. did york make blobs or are they all made from sacrificing dumbbells?

There are companies that make blobs similar to York. Blobs, but real blobs are the heads of cut-up roundheads. I agree with you, but there are plenty of loos Roundheads that no longer are usable as dumbbells. For those Roundheads, recycling as blobs is viable. I have blobs from 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100 lb blobs, all of which came from bent and loose Roundheads.

Is it plated or coated with anything? If not, I'd just use an aluminum wire wheel chucked up in a drill. It won't damage the steel, but it'll make quick work of rust, chalk, dead skin, grime, etc. Just be sure to wear eye protection. Those wire wheels will sling little pieces of wire everywhere, and you definitely don't want to blind yourself over a bit of krusty knurling."What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Took the sleeves and inner collars off of the York ez-curl bar. I am debating whether to have it re-chromed or coated in black oxide.
