Hey, after seeing alot of pics of guys competing on here I think I'm past the point of being ready, I've wanted to compete for the last 3 years but I wanted to get to 240 lean before anything, but I'm just itching to compete lately I want to be on stage and posing. I'm sitting at around 215 12% bodyfat right now. I'm not even going to get into contest prep or anything but i have some basic questions i'd really like answered. And I'd appreciate if you didn't tell me to search I'd like my questions answered directly. Thanks! My questions are as follows:
1. What are age divisions for amateur bb'ing comps?
2. What are the weight divisions?
3. How many times a year should an amateur compete?
Here's a quick shot of my chest:

1. What are age divisions for amateur bb'ing comps?
Teenage and over
Masters start at 40
Some Junior comps go up to about 21 (I've seen some up to 23 over the years)
2. What are the weight divisions?
Soem natural shows have height classes. NPC is weight classes. If you're 215 right now, you'll probably be a lightheavyweight -- cutoff is 176 between middleweight and lightheavy
3. How many times a year should an amateur compete?
Best way to do it is to hit a few shows at once when you're dieted down. Hit 2-3 in a month to six weeks.
Once a year competing is the norm. Some guys stay leaner and compete more frequently.

Thanks for responding so what are the exact age divisions? Is it 16-21 then 22-40? I want to know what age I'm going to be competing with. You mentioned some junior comps go up to 23 but what is the norm?
Light heavy starts at 176 where is the cutoff between that and heavyweight?
How do amateurs and juniors find competitions? I've seen a few sites that list a few but none are in PA.

19 and under is teenage.
Not many junior comps around. 20-21 is the norm for junior comps. NPC Natural Ohio has had a Jr. division. It's on March 31.
198 is the cutoff for lightheavy and heavy
Google NPC Pittsburgh or PA. Gary Udit promotes some shows in that area.
Any age after teenage and up to 40 is the open or novice divisions
