I am 35, soon to be 36. I just started weight training and want 22 inch arms and a 56 inch chest as well as a 32 inch waist. I am not concerned about my chest and waist... I know I can accomplish those. But, my arms are naturally 19 inches. After a good pump they're right around 19.5 inches. How likely is it that I can get to 22 inches naturally and what should I be doing to get to that point?

I am carrying quite a bit of excess body fat; but back in '05, I got to a 34 inch waist with 19" arms just with nutritional change and no exercise. When I was in the army, I had a 30" waist and 20" arms and did no weight training at all, just PT. So, I have to think that I should at least get an inch or 2 gain naturally. Just want to know what kind of curls (heavy weight, low weight w/high reps) or other exercises I should be doing.

Seriously? I doubt there is a natural guy on this entire site that can match the bolded stats. Personally, I rarely do arm isolation work ... but there are quite a few people on here that have some solid arm routines and some impressive results to show for it (Bodyhard for one). Maybe some of them can chime in.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

I guess it seems crazy to believe but it's true. I had a friend in the army with me who was a bodybuilder and he would not leave me alone about getting into it. He swore that I had the genetics to get massive and was a natural. I worked out with him once, but at the time, I was boxing and wanted to stay as lean as possible. As I mentioned before, I am now carrying excess weight but have lost 50 lbs since January and am still blasting off the fat; but I must admit to being pretty ignorant concerning how to properly isolate and build muscle.

Should be no problem at all. In fact, the proper protocol has already been covered in this other troll thread:

Wow! Such reactions. First of all, I am not implying I am better than anyone. Were that the case, I would not be asking for tips. Stating that I can achieve what I once achieved using the same method is not a boast but is actually a statement of scientific method. Secondly, I said in '05 I achieved a 34" waist 19" arms. At no point did I say I still had a 34" waist. In fact, I said I am carrying quite a bit of excess body fat - hence the dropping 50 lbs. to date. Thirdly, I will gladly post pix when I have something worth showing. As to the troll remarks and rude behavior directed towards me... I don't know why my questions/statements have illicited such reactions. I apologize for any offense and was just asking an honest question and will likely have more later on down the road because weight training is still relatively new to me.

Here's a set of stats:
Height: 6'2"
Arms: 22"
Chest: 57"
Waist: 34"
Thighs: 28.5"
Calves: 20"
Competition Weight: Around 235 lbs.
This is the profile of a former professional bodybuilder.
OP I somehow don't think you are going to get to this level, ever, no matter what.
Anyone know who those stats belong to?[]---[] Equipment Crew Member No. 11
