I know they already have the stickied thread about fasted cardio, but I was wondering what are some of you guys' other favorite myths about exercises?
I'll throw out a few of mine:
1. You have to do squats to have big legs. There are several people that don't do squats and have legs that the rest of us could only dream of.
2. You have to do cardio to loose body fat. There are a lot of professional bodybuilders that never do cardio.
3. If you do 1000 crunches a day (or some variant on that number) you'll have a six-pack. You have to get rid of a lot of body fat before you can even think about having a six pack.
Have fun!

Oh, don't forget about the dire need of deadlifts. Granted, I do them often and I love them, but some people (especially on here) are completely adamant about them.
Don't call me bro. I'm not your brother.
Rack your weights. Don't be a douchebag.
People who wear grip straps and gloves make me laugh.

I am one of those who is. Ha... ha... After going about 5 years without doing them regularly they helped me bust through every plateau I had hit. After working them into my regular routine and seeing the results I will never leave them out again. Gotta hit those squats too. There may be guys that have big legs and never do squats, but there are also guys like me that have built calves and never work them. Genetics?? Everyone has a different way of getting what they want.

1st:
Firstly, for the most part, squats are a staple...yes some people can have great legs without them but most CANT. For most, it is the most effective way.
2nd: What applies to pros does NOT apply to us. They are on a plethora of drugs to help cut fat and water.
3rd This is the most true imo but still that many crunches can be cardio in itself and help to bring out a six pack as part of a program."Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do."

Mainly with females - lifting heavy will make you unattractively big, so you must lift really pathetic weights for ridiculously high reps to "tone up".
With a lot of guys around here - you don't need to do ANY specific bicep work - rows and chins are ALL you need to get a great set of guns (usually said by a guy who's avatar displays a physique not unlike someone getting released from a POW camp).
