why do some workout programs say to do low intensity cardio instead of high intensity? If its low intensity what is the point?

Just a guess, but may help to burn calories without losing muscle(?)

cuz weight lifting is high intensity and draining...high intensity cardio on top of that doesn't help towards strength gains...so weightlifting is your anaerobic work, and low intensity cardio is your aerobic...

hmm, but low intensity cardio doesn't seem like it would even help your heart all that much. If its like walking, etc. then how is that going to help...

Doesn't cardio have to be near max intensity for your cardio to improve? Seems like low intensity cardio is only useful for fat loss and nothing else?

low intensity isn't necessarily walking...just a pace that can be kept for a long period of time...most can get away with light jogging...
