I started lifting last June. I was 32% body fat and skinny fat, but decided to bulk first. Unfortunately, I dirty bulked and went from 145 lbs. to 165 lbs. by September. I got on a cyclical keto cut in September and have lost about 35 lbs. I'm down to 131 lbs. and 14% body fat according to the handheld body fat monitor. I'm still skinny fat. My waist is much slimmer (33'' to 28''), but my midsection is still generally soft and lacks abs or any definition. My upper arms are toned (triceps visible unflexed), but it's difficult to see a separation between my biceps and my shoulders, so they're not very cut. My upper legs are very firm, and my calves are also visible unflexed. A trainer at my gym says I should bulk. I'm worried about gaining body fat very quickly. Here are some of my measurements, which were all taken unflexed:
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Height: 5'9''
Neck: 14''
Waist: 28''
Arms: 10.5''
Thighs: 15''
Calves: 12''
So, should I continue to cut to ~10% body fat or begin a long, clean bulk?
