    Exertion headache? Halp!!

    So on Tuesday I was going for a PR on leg press and I held my breath on the last rep like an idiot. I got the weight up but once I racked it I got a horrible headache in the back of my head. I did search the forums and found that its most likely an exertion headache. I tried to lift today as I had no signs of a headache but my head started to hurt during any exertion. What is the best course of action? Really need some help here. Every suggestion is appreciated.

    Leg press PR lol.

    Sorry can't help the question, I used to get them a lot but not so much any more. Think once you get rid of the weakest capillaries via pressure burst it happens less.

    But seriously, leg press?

    Srs: just take it easy and monitor. Breathing is very important and often times people pass out from lack of oxygen during a heavy lift. I used to get and still do from time to time headaches from lifting heavy, but this has gone down 100 fold overtime.

    Yea it was more like trying to out press my friend instead of PR, anyways it was the heaviest I've ever gone. Thanks for the response anyways

    I used to get the same thing during sex. SRS.
    It happened every time across about a 2 week span and then stopped happening.
    From what I read that it is just a random occurance and will go away with time.

    Depends on the lift - certain ones I have a very natural breath cadence on. Squats on the other hand...

    That's true. I forgot there are probably a lot of people who do a lot of bicep work and I could see breathing in that case. But not for bench, deads, rows and squats.
