Anyone taken the NASM FNS test?

what main topics do they preach, do they have a preferred method for coming up with maintenance cals?

it was fairly easy

didnt learn too much. was mostly "textbook chemistry stuff"

I'm thinking that after 4 years, although the basics are there, there's been updates. As I'm going through it I'm working on taking study guide notes and will advise. It may be fairly easy from the looks of things, but you never can tell. I got the course cheap from Groupon for $100 instead of $400 or whatever it is. Just from looking through, I thought there'd be more information on Macros, meals, how to cut or grow mass, etc. Apparently it's just the pure science of it.

It's good just to have the knowledge for yourself, everyone's weak point is usually going to be in nutrition. But yeah the test wasn't bad but I bought the book separately and skimming through that during the test helped a lot. I also made a study guide that I could send to whoever is interested.

Just wondering how hard it is.

I've been a career trainer for the last 4 years. I can tell you the FNS cert has increased my marketability tenfold. Get it. Hang it in your office. During consultations, mention that you are a certified FNS. Most people suffer with nutrtion greatly.

As for how hard it is, I didn't study and passed it on the 3rd go.

As for the cert, it provides really good insight into the scientific part of nutrition. I don't feel that it's really applicable to clients. Currently reading Girth Control by Alan Aragon and it's a lot more helpful for me.
