    Need New Protein!Need Suggestions!

Well this is my first time posting on these forums and I would like to know which is the best protein I should get!

I'm currently trying to build mass then lose fat later on.

I'm currently using BSN Syntha 6: Strawberry flavor, and it taste WONDERFUL,however I've seen some reviews on how it has a lot of fillers and things that are bad for you. Along that it has 200 Calories per scoop! That's a little too much for just protein powder in my opinion.

I was looking at Optimum Gold Standard 100% Whey and I'm seeing a lot of positive reviews, but I'm still not sure.

Then I saw something called MusclePharm: Combat Powder and that looks good.

So basically its Sytha 6 vs Combat Powder vs Optimum Gold Standard

I'm taking the powder with 60-70 grams of Dextrose in my PWO Shake

    Please help!

Gold standard is a safe choice with good macros and being fairly reputable. Although taste wise, it falls wayy behind other brands. Combat powder will taste much better than the gold standard. It seems like their best sellers are CnC and banana. Myofusion and trutein are also top brands with great taste. As for the dextrose why will you be consuming it with your whey shake?

I have read that the Dextrose provides an insulin spike which would transport the nutrients faster through my body and it refills my glycogen levels after a workout

    New Protein

I also used to take Syntha 6. Your right about the calorie intake per scoop is a bit much that is why I switched. I thought about just going with just one brand, but on a suggestion from a friend I decided to go with 2. I take ON Pro complex in the mornings for breakfast and 1/2 serving before I go to sleep. I also take Dymatize ISO 100 pre and post workout. I have been taking these for about a month and so far dropped about 5 lbs. I can't really say for sure if it was just from the protein switch but I have not really changed a lot In my diet. Hope this helps

The effect given by an "insulin spike" is negligible at best and does not really matter in the grand scheme of things. This also ties into nutrient timing. The anabolic window for protein is actually quite large and the time you take your protein does not matter as long as you hit your number for the day. So i would personally ditch the dextrose.. As for the brand, taste and profile are the only two deciding factors for me as those are the main differences.

BSN synthia 6 great dont get me wrong, but it does have alot of fat calories. Stick with a gold standard whey or one with less fat calories

Myofusion pro is really good I have both the banana and cinnamon roll flavors. Tastes great even in water. Skip the dextrose and grind up some oats. Oats will give u plenty of carbs and way more nutrition.
Pre: focus xt, sns pea, sns agmatine, sns citrulline malate, creaplex
    Intra: iforce compete
Daily: CL orange triad, CL fish oil
    Protein: scivation whey

I always motivate others to get fit.
