if you don't currently have the $ then there's nothing wrong with switching to nizoral EOD
i'm not sure what you have is typical mpb... it's very strange for just the area by your ears to be shedding.
also a little hard to tell but it looks like your temples are starting to recede as well in the 2nd pic, could be the angle though, a straight-on pic would work better.
minox foam vs liquid depends on your preference... foam dries a lot quicker, better for during the day. to save $, people tend to use the liquid at night. effectiveness/side effects are a whole different topic, some swear by liquid and vice versa. if you're strapped for cash i'd go with generic liquid... you can get a 6 month supply on amazon for like $30.Last edited by z-iron; 10-08-2012 at 03:35 AM.

ok thanks, i agree it's definitely not typical balding patterns as far as know. Maybe i should go to the doctor? Are general practitioners very good at this sort of thing?
And i know its a matter of opinion but should i just see how the nizoral and minoxidil works for a few months first, or should i jump straight into the thing like S5 cream and azelaic acid?
Thanks again

Heres about 10 months progress on minoxidil, about 6-7 on propecia
before
after
stay positive hair loss brahs, the earlier you intervene the better. Hope on nizo and mino for sure, weigh out the pros and cons when it comes to propecia and as far as spiro goes i am not overly educated on the product. DONT do tech, or letro it will kill your hair if you even remotely have MPB, regardless of age. Facial asethetics > body aesthetics. Losing hair taking tech is not worth it imo.

Brahs, I have been using minioxidil foam for about 2 months now and I'm experiencing a great improvement in the texture of my hair. My hair used to be pretty greasy and unmanageable even at low body fat percentages, but since the foam has a little hold, I can wear it longer and style it now.

s5 cream gets expensive... based on what you said before, i'm not sure if you'd have the $ for it
i think just nizoral and minox would be ok for now, and then you can decide to add something else later.
anyways i'd go see the doc before you start minox. i don't think anyone who has posted itt was in the same situation as you.
maybe go see a dermatologist instead of your GP? idk what to say on this one
and @ animalistik: nice results brah*cucked by life crew*

ATTN bros: it's autumn in the northern hemisphere, and this is often the time when your hair starts to shed more as it gets ready for winter
so don't necessarily freak out if you start seeing lots of loose hairs - I have a bunch on my pillowcase every morning and lose some in the shower, but I'm not balding. good advice though in this thread.
and @ the dude balding on the sides of his head, that's seriously bizarre but you should just guy for the hitler youth haircutKaizen.

both come with a chance of side effects. yes people have got gyno from using spiro but i think it's generally better-tolerated, mainly because it's applied topically
possible propecia sides... watery jizz, nut ache, brain fog, depression, gyno, decreased libido / less morning wood... those are the main ones
some people get sides with 1mg/day and decrease the dose to 0.5 or 0.25 with no sides or at least the sides have lessened enough to keep taking the drug*cucked by life crew*

What's everyone's thoughts on Saw Palmetto?
Everytime I read reviews on vitamin websites (GNC, Puritan's Pride, etc) people who use Saw Palmetto almost always report it helped them with hairloss even though that's not the intended reason they started taking it. Anyone taking this stuff?

I am 18 almost 19 and my hairline is starting to recede really bad in the temple area. I also feel like my hair is starting to thin above my sideburns. I bought some 1% Nizoral, but I think most of you guys are using 2% (not sure because a lot of the time you guys just say nizoral lol). Should 1% be fine? I have been using it everyday for the last couple of days and I haven't noticed my scalp being irritated or anything...is this ok to do? Also, I was going to buy some minoxidil for my temples. Anyone have success with temple hair regrowth? Some people were saying that the foam actually caused them to lose more hair on their temples...
I read through a good amount of this thread, but I didn't find any of this info from it.Current Lifts (all raw/no belt):

I tried this stuff a long time ago. I wasn't impressed. I don't think it's very useful for treating hair loss.
I've been using 1% every single day and mixing in some 2% a couple times a week. Seems to be fine. If your scalp can tolerate it, I say go for it. But for some people it could cause a ton of irritation. I guess most will have just to do some testing. I've had some very minimal regrowth in the temple area. Minoxidil seems to work best in the areas with the most hair follicles to work with I suppose.
ANIMALISTIKZ, hairline looks pretty good and the rest looks pretty thick. Hair looks pretty good.

1% is ok. regenepure is a 1% formula, nizoral comes in 1 and 2%.
personally i couldn't stand the itch of 2% nizoral every second or third day. i do use regenepure every day, no itching / irritation.
minox can come with a shedding phase within 3 months, i think if they stuck with it, the new hairs would
eventually come up. and yes temple regrowth happens*cucked by life crew*
