    Pain in forearm whilst curling

Occasionally when I do bicep curls, usually only when I do DB or BB bicep curls, never with curl/ez bar/hammer curls etc... I get this pain in my left forearm, on the backside of it, and I just can't lift chit. Assuming some form of tendonitis, anyone else ever get this? It only happens occasionally.

you have to switch the grips up. if i lift too narrow or too wide, i get bone pain. youre stressing the bone instead of the muscle

also never come to misc for advice.

So it's purely from too narrow or wide grip?

I had this a couple months back, i assumed it was originally from the ez bar that caused it to hurt on multiple exercises, I took a couple weeks off, used some anti inflammatory gel, cut the ez bar out of my workout and now I never get it

Overworking your forearm extensors, AKA Tennis Elbow. Take it easy.

Thanks guys I really appreciate the feedback. I definitely don't work forearms anywhere near enough so I think that has something to do with it for sure.

Yes! Exactly like shin splints in forearm, it's horrible isn't it, and I can't curl for chit because of it sometimes. I've been neglecting biceps for almost a month now due to this.

Just some thoughts on why it might hurt because i also have that same feel...

1.Everyones body is different, i only use the ez bar for bb curls (unless im doing a light weight). I well try to explain however might not make sense... The angle of my hand in relation to my wrists means when i grip a straight bar in feels un-natural because my hands are getting straighten instead of being on there natural angle :S some people would have straight wrist to hands angles...

    2. Im also double jointed in my wrists (you might be to) that means when i grip BB, my hands wrists bend while other peoples would stay stable thus causing pain... I wear wrist straps to counter this mrsupplement. com. au/ bronx-wrist-wrap

You can test for double jointed wrists by bending your four fingers back if the palm of your hand angles under your wrist=double jointed
    Do you even phaggot? lift..

Thank you for that. I find I don't get them when I use the EZ bar, which makes me think I'll drop out BB curls and replace them with EZ instead.

Op!! I had that Exact problem when I started curling. You need to Stretch your forearms and wrists before you start curling. Stretching made my pain in my forearm go away. Try it op Srs.

^ you are letting your hands/wrists bend flat 90 degree putting pressure in your wrists, hold your wrists/hands straight or at max were your knuckles would be on a 45 degree angle (mine usually roughly 15) however less is better.

Thank you buddy, the funny thing is I'm not new to curling, and it's just arrived in the past two months or so. But I'll definitely give this a shot later today

Where about on the back OP? Can you localise the pain? It could easily be a tight nerve as it doesn't like being stretch you it will cause you pain, try a sustained stretch on the back of your forearm (flex your wrist and hold it there), if that is painful without the pain subdueing, then it is likely to be a tight nerve. Let me know how you go on
