Hey ya pheygit, recommend me a good polish or polishes for my black paint. I bought a Porter Cable DA polisher on sale a couple weeks ago. Figured I'd try and clean up some swirl marks when it warms up so I got some time to pick up everything I need. I just don't know exactly what that is.

I thought those mildly abrasive compounds were referred to as "polishes" and there were different levels of abrasiveness, much like sandpaper. Not being sarcastic or anything, just completely uninformed.
Example, did a quick search for Meguiars Polish: This pre-waxing glaze eliminates fine swirl marks to produce deep, wet reflections with high gloss. Ultimate Polish also adds depth of color, especially on dark-colored cars, & leaves the paint finish incredibly clear & glossy with mirror-like reflections.Last edited by ko300zx; 02-07-2014 at 12:39 PM.

lease...
lulz
If you can see swirls, a polish compound is not good enough... You'll need a cut and buff, but you can try using a rubbing compound if you have some. If you don't, I would just go straight into cutting and buffing. Especially now, you really can't do a lot with a "liquid" rub in super cold weather. If you're set on buying a rubbing compound, Wolfgang, Chemical Guys, Mothers, 3M, pinnacle, and Griots are all pretty good. I think you can get Mothers, 3M, and Griots shyt at vato zone/advance/napa type places, but IDK about the others. FWIW, most of Mothers stuff smells really good but IDK if I've ever fukked with their rubbing compounds.Official Supp. Misc Beer Policeman

There's visible swirls for sure (hood and trunk are pretty bad) and I've never done anything beyond a clay bar and waxing, so no polishes on hand. So I pretty much need a cutting compound and a buffing compound.
I won't mess with any of this until April or so when it's a bit nicer out so no need to worry about the cold weather f'ing with stuff.

No, cut and buff = wet sand (1500, 2000, then a higher grit like 2400 or 2500, or 3k), then fine polish, wax etc. Don't wax in cold temps; you should use liquid polish in cold weather either.
Sell it to a girl who is the rightful owner of all jeeps.
Check 710 filter to see if it hasn't collapsed or exploded... or likely a blown valve cover gasket which should have oil everywhere and not just the alternator. IDK about the 4cyl version but the 6 has the alt on the top left iirc, so if you have the 6cyl, then maybe it just hasn't had the chance to leak everywhere yet.Official Supp. Misc Beer Policeman

last night noticed a grinding from my back right wheel and the noise changes when pressure applied to breaks... sigh --- taking it to the dealership tomorrow
went to "freeman's car stereo", pretty much the only place for car audio in charlotte (7 locations) and they estimated me $600 for a 250watt entry level amp with a 8inch sub in custom box (aka their own, cheap), wiring harness and labor. $600 for a ****ty sub and ****ty amp, no thanks jeff
love this car so much - almost too much swag

Who the **** leases?
Buy speakers online and have an audio place install. You'll pay a decent price for a professional install, but it's a far less pain in the ass.
When I had my high school car ('96 neon) I put subs and a new headunit in. Running from back to front, through the firewall, under the console, and all sorts of things in between was a massive pain.

took the car to the dealership yesterday for work...
Back brake pads were 2mm - the sound I heard was a metal pin that acts as a 'safety' to warn me that my brake pads are low
Bought this care from a VW dealership used in mid December:
- Had to remove the tint from rear window because it was limo tint and illegal ($50 to remove, $50 for back window to be re-tinted)
- Spend $260 on Brake pads that were dangerously low
- Tires are feathered a bit, so paid $80 for an alignment (which was done the car previously, bc they put on new tires)
Worth making a call to the dealership to talk about my out of pocket expenses??? I had an otherwise good experience with the dealership, and I'm still very happy with my purchase, got a good deal on the vehicle.Senior Gaspari Board Rep/Brand Ambassador

People with good credit and knowledge of depreciation who doesn't drive long distances?
I could buy a Regal for $29K, keep it for a few years and try to resell it. By 2016/17 it will probably only be worth $10000. That's a $19K hit, plus the financing that necessitates premium coverage. And a limited warranty
Or I could lease it for $259/month, thats $6216 total lease payments, $2519 due at signing, and the same insurance as if I financed it...also a better warranty. I am only putting $8735 into it. At which point I could extend and transfer, or trade in for a newer model
Buying a new vehicle is idiotic unless you plan on keeping said vehicle. I, do not.Xtreme Formulations Aficionado

lol you got fisted. I doubt they would do anything for you, but I would certainly try to bitch.... in the end, you shouldn't be buying a car that has illegal shyt on it, especially ghay infinitis. That screams misuse by previous owner to me.
