Oh lawd he just messaged me on POF saying there was a death in the family last night and he rushed up to London and left his phone (which had my number on). He was very apologetic. Now I feel like a kunt.

You don't really believe this do you? If there is a death in the family the last thing you do is forget your phone when you are going to rush up there and get business done. I would find out the name of said person who died and check the obitz in that area.

If I were him I would have blown you off for another woman and then made up this lame story.

Its hard to meet people, which is why I'm on POF in the first place. I don't drink so I don't really go to bars. I don't think that's necessarily a good place to meet someone anyway. Most of my similar age friends are in couples so I don't go out with them much socially, because I feel like a spare.

That really sucks, dude. Makes me feel for my mum now as I've never really thought about how being single and beyond middle age would really affect her even though she doesn't appear to want a man.

This one time when I was a teenager I went bowling on a date and in my desperation to impress her I decided to do throw the ball really high in the air so it lands half way down the lane. Dick move I know but it's kinda funny how loud it is. So I did it and my fingers got stuck in the holes and the ball ended up flying up really high and knocking out a couple of ceiling tiles onto the lane, and then it landed on the next lane and got wedged into the skittle trap. She started crying and I got kicked out and banned from that megabowl. Never saw her again after that.

Usually, desirable (good looks/qualities) men are at the top value of any society. (In terms of dating/relationships) Second, comes desirable women (good look/qualities). Like a pyramid, there are less good looking men on top, a bit more good looking women underneath that (thanks to the magic of make up), then you have the rest of the population underneath them, ranging from the lower scales of desirability (think 6/10 and lower). At the bottom, is the average joe. He usually gets all the grief because he's happy with whatever he can get. (Anyone can be desirable to him, his standards are low) And everything bad a women has ever done to him, was done to that woman by some other guy she valued more. And so on, and so on. Now, that 'top' desirable guy probably had the same done to him, except he wasnt always desirable. He probably became that way later in life through hard work and dedication (think zyzz) . It's like a vicious cycle, but this lady shouldnt be complaining. Nobody gets treated as bad as the average joe and below.


In turn, this is what happens in a superficial society based on competition, desire, and greed. Nobody's happy with what they got. I'm no exception.

3) at your age unless youve had a divorce, theyll think you get around

I'm not even gonna lie i flake all the time on girls that either A: im not interested in and/or B: i don't want to hurt their feelings.
doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't like you, you might just be lower on his list of priorities. or maybe he got too high/drunk and forgot or broke/lost his phone (probably not as big a problem for the 30+ crowd but you never know)

Why do people flake for these reasons. I dont get it. If your not interested in someone be an adult and say no thank you. Just dont get whats so hard about it?

So I met this guy from POF, we went for coffee. He asked me for a second date, to which I agreed. We texted and spoke on the phone and arranged to go bowling tonight. He mentioned how much he was looking forward to it and said he would call me again before then. I heard nothing so I texted him last night asking if he was still OK for today - no reply. I figured its Saturday night, he's probably out, no biggie. So I called this morning, no reply. I assume, then, that the date is off.

This isn't a thread for advice - its just to point out that everything girls do that pisses guys off, guys do too. I don't know what pleasure people get out of doing this to people and don't know why they can't be straight up, or why they feign interest and even ask for another date if they don't really want one.

The point is, despite this not being the first time this has happened, I'm not going to write all guys off as lying unreliable dickheads. I mean there must be at least one out there who isn't.
