Peanuts. They contain around 23 - 24 grams or protein per 100 gram serving (or 6.6g per ounce).
Though I think almonds are the 'top nut' as far as nutrition goes: (per 1 oz.)
166 calories
5 g of protein
14 g of fat (90 percent unsaturated)
4 g of fibre (the highest fiber content of any nut or seed), unblanched
80 mg calcium
1.4 mg zinc
1 mg iron
6.7 mg vitamin E
some B-vitamins, minerals, and selenium
Almonds are also alkaline forming and great for your skin!
