So yeah....I tore my eso****us...
Woke up @ maybe around 3am on Nov 20th and puked up what seemed to be about a gallon of blood, I drove myself to ER and after bloodwork/xray they saw the tear and said I was on the line of needing a blood transfusion. I got emergency surgery and spent a week in the hospital not allowed to drink or eat anything the first few days, then I was allowed water, then after a week I got to eat solids.
I'm down to 185 pounds, I look skinny this is crazy. I got allot to say but I'll just leave it like this for now. I'm fuking grateful to be alive, this whole ordeal gave me yet again a new perspective on life. Stay safe everyone, much love.Journal: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=139898123&page=240

^ Thanks brother
I got down to 179 body weight at my lowest...Now I'm back up to 186 fasted in the morning.
I've been lifting / exercising the past week plus slowly getting back into the groove. Still have a long road ahead of me to get back to where I want to be, but I am GRATEFUL I am alive and have my health. I'll be honest I've never been more terrified in my life...Not knowing if you're internally bleeding is a mindfuk. I've thought I was going to die before but not like this. Every night for the past 3 weeks I go to sleep thinking I may not wake up in the morning... ded srs.
This whole new year I will be taking care of my health in all aspects. I won't even take advil anymore because that causes stomach acid. My life has now permanently changed.
To anyone else reading out there, be smart about your health and stay safe. There was a point where I thought I may have to stop the heavy lifting in order to live...And I would if I had to...I'd much rather be alive and experience life than lift heavy and die lol...So yeah looks like I've changed a bit. When I went back to the ER I specifically said do not give me any opioids...And I never said that before. This whole ordeal has put things in a better perspective for me. I want to be myself, be sober, enjoy life/family etc. and get as healthy as I can get. I'd also like to find a good wife and have kids at some point (just lol @ marriage in 2021...But I'm srs now). Yep, my goals and life have completely changed...wut the fuk...CrazyyyyJournal: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=139898123&page=240

Thank you brother, I'm finally back to about 90% of where I was almost 3 months ago before all this sh*t happened.
Been lifting consistently for about 4 weeks now and gains are coming back strong. Also been completely sober the past 28 days. Things are looking good again and I'm grateful.Journal: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=139898123&page=240

Thanks brother and glad to hear! Let the slammin and bangin begin! lol
You going to physical therapy?
I got it scheduled next year for my hand, shoulder, back and knee. My doctor spent an hour with me last time I went given the circumstances and we came up with a game plan. I'm already feeling much better anyways. Even though I didn't lift for over two months and lost 20+ pounds my lifts are still:
Squat - 315+
Bench - 300 +
Deadlift - 405x2 with more in the tank
So as long as no pain and I'm healthy I plan to build those up again all while keeping my mile time under 9:30 (hopefully much better soon) @ 205 body weightJournal: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=139898123&page=240

No I don't feel its needed at this point everything seems to be healing although somewhat slowly, guess understandably considering my age lol. Anyway Awesome to here your heading back just please be careful on deadlifts brother those are dangerous giving the low overall benefit you get from going heavy. I used to feel going max was beneficial but thats really only in strength gains, I guess thats okay in your youth but think about the long term. Anyway glad to here you have a plan.

Appreciate the advice brother yes I'm slowly easing into the heavy weights to be safe. I have an issue not doing deadlifts because they're so much fun lol. I also enjoy heavy squats/deadlifts because of the neurotransmitter response I get after doing them so I'm trying to figure out a way to still be able to do squats without injury and so far its been lighter weight, not even close to failure and split squats cuz they simply don't hurt me at all. I think those combined with heavy rows will keep my deadlift strength up without even doing them, although I'll still do them just not as much or as heavy (most likely).

Yooooo!!!!!!!!!
Glad to see ya brother and thanks! How ya been? Hope you've been well!
A sled is on the list along with much more to add to the home gym. As far as sled work is concerned I have a tire I'm using for light sled drags and or I'll walk backward on my treadmill turned off which mimics a sled pull, very VERY good for knee rehab indeed. Also good for knee warmup before squats, etc.
Oh hell no I will never rush anything with females again, already made that mistake a few times lol. We really do seem to be living in clown world now, every single girl I've hung out with past couple years is either: unemployed, broke, has a kid, no drivers license, no car, no ambition/hobbies/goals, thinks her p*ssy is all she needs to provide/be equal, whiny, entitled, annoying, negative, a social media wh0re, etc etc etc. Its usually a mix of that list.
Its disgusting and I blame it on education/society/parenting/social media etc. And its not just females, its males too. I stay away from all people like that because the laziness and lack of accountability is contagious. That movie idiocracy was spot on.
I know there are still high value females out there so I'll keep my options open hopefully / eventually finding one but I'm not holding my breath lol.Journal: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=139898123&page=240

Good to see you're trucking along bro. Can't believe this log has been maintained for 10+ years lol. Still remember you giving me advice in my early stages of lifting 6-7 years ago. I'm not sure how old you are now but I think I'm actually older now than you were when I started following this log which is just insane to me haha.
I don't really use this website anymore (still lift, that's never gonna stop, and mainly just post updates on IG if that) but I pop by here and there and when I log in yours is always one of the few threads I check from my subs because you always had a great vibe and were motivational af.
I changed my lifting style too after covid. I kind of realized I wasn't genetically blessed to hit crazy maxes... 365 squat and 405 deadlift was good enough for me. Pushing further would've continued giving me random injuries and I wasn't really interested in that further. Focusing mainly on hypertrophy, like you, still squatting but now doing DBs for chest and RDLs instead of deadlifts and nothing lower than 5 reps on anything. Plus a lot of bodybuilding work that I never really put the right amount of effort into when I was obsessed with numbers.
We're still young bro, let's be jacked and healthy (physically and mentally!) for as long as we can!
Again, glad to see you're doing well. The world is really crazy as hell, can't believe how much has changed since I first started following your log, but the iron remains our constant!

45 min trial ride yesterday, finally got back on the horse (my regular mountain bike, e-bike will have to be repaired from crash).
