I don't see how Nagy can go back to Mitch. The entire game changed the second Foles stepped on the field. He said after the game he told Miller to run to the L in the endzone and the ball would be there. He got smacked on that throw and led Miller right into the ball. That is a confident QB that knows what he is doing. Something Mitch has never been capable of. The whole offense yesterday up until the point Foles came in was putrid against the worst defense in the league. Fell like Nagy probably had a weight lifted off his back once he made that decision. Opened up his playbook and just let Foles sling it. He basically threw 5 TDs yesterday in a quarter and half and only 3 of them counted.

Yeah, you can't go back to Mitch after this. Foles immediately improved the offense to the point where they won the game. Obviously he threw a pick, but it was a good throw and taking a legitimate shot down the field as opposed to just a random heave by Trubisky. The GM will be fired regardless as they traded the barn for a QB who ended up becoming a disappointment. He had way too many open questions after college with only 1 year starting against subpar opponents. He will be a capable backup for any team in the NFL, but he in no way should be a starter.

There's no way they can go back to Mitch unless Foles get injured again. Olin Kreutz and Lance Brings said it best that Mitch has to be prepared since Foles has a history of missing extended time.

Sure, Trubisky struggled mightily against the Lions and Giants and he had to be bailed out by a competent QB against the Falcons but did you see Foles go up against the number one defense in the league?

When Trubisky plays the opposing teams game plan is literally to make him play QB. He can’t read defenses and doesn’t stand in the pocket and go through his progressions. Trubisky is never going to be the guy, give up the dream. Hopefully, the QB the Bears draft next year turns out better but even if Trubisky plays again this year it’s over at the end of the season. You fought valiantly for your guy but it’s time to give up on the dream.

That was probably Mitch best game this year. He made some bad reads and threw it into double and triple coverage otherwise he had a decent game. The sack (fumble and score) was a blatant miss call by the refs. I don't know how you can miss two different guys grabbing the face mask.

The o-line actually was not bad last night. They create some room and held up okay in pass protection. Leno suck as usually.

That was several years ago and when the NFC West wasn’t a strong division. And how many failed college coaches have gotten a promotion to NFL Head coach and been successful? The game evolves and it doesn’t seem like he’s kept up.

I can almost imagine the letter to season ticket holders announcing a price increase next year:

“Hey fans, we know you’re disappointed in the last regime but we’re going to hire someone who massively underperformed in college and failed to ever get good QB play out of college players—-so he’s a perfect fit for Chicago!”

On the flip side how many college coaches have done well making the jump from college to pro? I know Saban, Spurrier, Chip Kelly, Butch Davis are a few that comes to my mind who have failed and the jury is still out on Matt Ruhle of the Panthers. The only one that has done well is Pete Carroll.

His Offense been getting exposed since the 2nd half of the 2018 season and he cost the bears a playoff game because he decided to throw the ball 55 times with Mitch in a game that was close the whole time thanks to the defense.

Two of the last four games of that season they won 14-9 against the 49ers and 15-6 against the Rams. Against the Lions they only scored 16 and the defense bailed them out with a pick 6. Past two seasons have been historically bad offenses sure you can blame the talent but the bears offense in 16 led by Matt freaking Barkley and Cameron Meridith as WR1 and was ranked higher in yards and points. Cameron Meridith was only 24 and only has 114 yards since he left the bears.

These past two seasons have been historically bad on offense. Either way Pace and Nagy should go.

He just called out the defense in a press conference but never in the over 40 games he's coaching called out his garbage offense. This is is out to be one of the most epic collapses in nfl history. They might go 5-11 or 6-10.
