He's not the entire problem, but he's a large part of it and we are stuck with it until Pace wises up and forces him to do something different or gets rid of him. As a HC I want him to stay. I’d rather get rid of Pace than Nagy. His abysmal draft management (who needs draft picks when you can trade up for a bust at QB) is a major reason the Bears offense is where it is. A garbage offensive line with no depth. He also hired both John Fox and Nagy, so why give him a 3rd coach?

I don’t even know what they could do from a play calling perspective when the offensive line is getting dominated so badly. On a third down completion to Mooney that was short 3 guys were coming at him. Even if you chip with the RB or TE he’d still have been screwed.

As far as the Trubisky stuff goes, if you could put Foles’ brain in Trubisky’s body that would be ideal. However, Foles releases something like 65% of his passes in 2.5 seconds or less while Trubisky was like 30%, so his mobility wouldn’t be as helpful as you might think because of how slowly he processes information. Trubisky either decides where he’s throwing before the snap or is confused and makes a terrible throw like the interception that got him benched.

Also, his footwork is so erratic that even if he was able to buy time he’d miss most of his throws downfield like he’s done his whole career and everyone would be frustrated and disappointed again.

Kmet gets plenty of snaps he just doesn’t get targeted in the passing game when that’s the strength of his game. The almost fumble might have made them gun shy late but I would have liked to see him get one of those attempts over the middle that Graham dropped.

I don’t think it’s all bad though. They started out well and they had their longest completion and longest run of the season. Montgomery had 85 yards against a good run defense despite this garbage offensive line. So there were some bright spots.

Hopefully, it’s a step in the right direction and they can continue to improve offensively next week.

It didn’t seem like the line suffered when Spriggs came in which is encouraging. I continue to be dumbfounded that the Bears think Coward is the best option at LG. I wish I knew what they saw that everyone else is missing.

And Tyler Bray is the 3rd string QB, dude (He hasn’t even looked good against preseason defenses). Because the GM that said he wanted to draft a QB every year hasn’t drafted one since he needlessly wasted draft picks trading up for Trubisky who will almost certainly be a backup somewhere else next year.

Yeah, Fangio is definitely a better coach than Pagano and his game plans and schemes were much better. I was thinking about he took Sean McVay’s lunch in LA a couple of years ago while the Rams were gashing the Bears D.
