Was the NFL trying to give the bears the toughest schedule next season. Looks brutal.

Next season feels like it's going to be a tank season with Nagy and Pace and they'll both gone. Next GM and HC should have a high draft pick but the biggest problem I have is Pace can do whatever he wants and you know he's going to give away draft picks for the future and give bad contracts for the future to try to save his job next season.Illinois

So the Bears are on the small list of teams Russell Wilson would accept a trade to. I don’t expect that to happen (Seattle would be crazy to trade him) but this is probably the best news they’ll get regarding the QB position given the track record of the guy running the team and the history of the Bears.

Adam Schefter just tweeted that the Bears signed Andy Dalton to a one year 10 Million dollar contract with a potential for 3 million more in incentives.
Now what QB will Pace trade up for in this draft?Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. -C.S. Lewis

I mean if you look at the top FA QBs what's the difference between Andy Jacoby Winston and Fitz not much. They're all pretty equal skill level imo. I do think Dalton is better then Mitch but obviously not by much lol.
Knowing this franchise 1 game over .500 and they're back. And with the bears figuring out how to shuffle the o line whitehair is better at G Ifedi at RT etc. If the o line stays healthy I could see this team be 1 or 2 games over .500. A big if is if hicks comes back though I get the feeling he isn't though. If they get a 7th seed again they'll probably get bounced in the 1st round.but the game will be more competitive.Illinois

Dalton can't be the end game. There are reports they could offload Fuller before the 4PM deadline today to save more cap space. My guess is like above he trades away the future to move up as far as he possibly can to draft one of the top 5 QBs. Unless said QB if he gets him shows out in training camp Dalton is our starter next year and the rookie learns for a year. Pace has Teddy and George so far up his ass he buys himself another 2-3 year window to try to get another rookie QB molded.

Well, it wasn’t my idea. Brad Biggs brought it up because there’d be less dead money if he was cut. So other teams were preparing for the Bears to cut him. People have been running wild with anger about it ever since.
But since the deadline has passed and he wasn’t cut, I guess they’re getting under the cap in a different way. Maybe they’ll extend him.Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. -C.S. Lewis

Over 6 million and 3 is guaranteed, so not a huge savings. They’re probably not going to get a better or even equivalent value at the position if they cut him and Pace’s ego also would probably prevent him from eating dead money as a result of an obviously bad contract he gave out.
