I'm prepared for him to make some mistakes, it's going to happen. However, I think he gives a dimension to that offense we really need. Get the pocket moving, give receivers time to get open. Trubisky being mobile is a huge, huge step for this offense. I'll be at the Vikings game, can't wait to see this kid live. fuk yeah!

At least in preseason he actually seemed to have a better pocket presence or internal clock (or whatever it is that makes Glennon appear oblivious that the opposing team is trying to get after him) than Glennon. Hopefully, that translates in real games.

The fact is he's still a rookie. I'm prepared for his mistakes because they are going to happen, but he also gives this team some hope. I don't expect to win many more games but as long as he progresses I will be happy.

Vikings are a tough matchup to start against but he's a rookie. He'll grow from it if he's legit. Manning led the league in picks as a rookie and he was a senior coming into the NFL. Mitch is a one year starting junior.

Look forward to see what he can do. Not an ideal situation but still exciting to see these top QBs play.

Good call. I knew Glennon was not that great but he has been downright awful. I'm excited to see what Trubisky can do. My gut feeling is their going to be pretty conservative with him and try to establish the run game to take pressure off him.

Some of those holding calls were garbage especially the Howard touchdown run.

Mitch is going to be fine. He is only going to get better with more experience.

Mitch will be fine, but he's going to struggle all year with no help from his WRs. He can't make that throw at the end of the game, but rookie mistake. Take it and learn from it. I saw a ton of good things from him and I'm definitely excited to watch him grow. I'm just worried he will be a bit stunted in this offense, because we have no play-makers. Have to make it a point to get a good WR in free agency next year and draft the best WR available. Give this kid some actual legit NFL caliber receivers to throw to.

I do think some of the holding calls were BS, but I figured the o-line would struggle a bit last night with a QB that can scramble out of trouble or when they get to running the option and roll outs. They should get better and more continuity with more practice time with Mitch. Defense was really good last night. After Bradford came out is really when they started to struggle with Keenum's mobility. Game plan for Bradford to stand in the pocket all game and then had to adjust to Keenum. Still played pretty well and really gave us a chance to win. Especially early in the game. Gave us easily 4 or 5 chances to take a big lead in this game but with such a stagnant offense that won't push the ball down the field everything just fizzles out.

One really good thing I noticed is that he doesn't seem to get rattled. He saved the team on a couple of really bad snaps. Too bad all of the Bears receivers are basically number 3 on any good team.

Tanner Gentry promoted to the active roster. I hope they actually give this kid a shot. Mitch had a good connection with him in camp and pre-season and gives us a deep ball target now. From what I saw and have read he is a pretty crisp route runner and has great hands. Something we clearly lack at WR right now.

Edit: Released Deonte Thompson for the promotion of Gentry.

Hopefully, it's an indication that they're going to let Trubisky throw some bombs. That stat about the punter having the longest pass play of the season is an embarrassment.

    Bears win!

If Fox gets fired, Fangio should get a look, they’ve got to do something to keep him on board. He’s a wizard. Howard is a beast and Trubisky continues to flash good signs.

Not bad despite the st being dog **** with no Sherrick McMannis.

Going to have a much tougher time against a better offense next week. Running the ball 50 times a game isn't going to work all the time and Howard isn't going to last rushing 36 of those.

I feel like they are really holding Trubisky back. Allowing this kid to only throw the ball 16 times in a game that went to OT is not teaching him anything. It's time to take the bubble wrap off this kid and let him go. We are going to get slaughtered against teams with an actual offense. We all knew coming into this there was nothing to be scared of from Flacco and company. Can't live and die by trick plays either. Letting your RB throw TDs before you allow your 2nd overall pick to start slinging the ball around the field is just retarded.

Very impressed with Kyle Fuller yesterday. They threw at him constantly and he didn't back down one bit.

As for the offense I'm concerned that team will start loading the box. We can't have Howard carrying 30+ times a game or he won't last through the season. We need to let Mitch rollout or take some deep shot to keep the defense honest.

Concerned they will start? It happened all day long yesterday. There was constantly 8 or more in the box all day long.

Look at how many of Trubisky's pass attempts were on 2nd/3rd and long.

They need to cut the predictable: run on 1st, maybe pass on 2nd down BS.

And give the guy more than 16 attempts, 20-25 seems about right for now.

Don't be afraid to pass on 1st down and maybe run a few draws in passing situations as well.

Also have to add they've been killing themselves all year long with penalties, that's most of the reason for the losing record.

So much this. Stop being so predictable. He threw away 6 balls yesterday when he had nothing to pass too. He's not looking to force the ball. I think he already learned from his first game about trying to hard to make plays. At the very minimum at least give him an option to check out of a called run. You don't have to give the kid the entire playbook, but give him some options at the line if they stack 9 guys in the box.

14 of the bears 50 rushing attempts yesterday went for negative or no gain. They are going to continue to see that issue if they don't let this kid sling it around a bit.
