The Lions blocked the Bears from interviewing Jim Bob Cooter, so it seems like that won't happen. I don't really know anything about him or what type of offense he would run but Geep Chryst is a heck of a name.

I wouldn't doubt that we will see Adam Gase here. This interview is most likely just so Pace can get a feel for him since Fox already knows about him.

Maybe but there is speculation out here that there was friction between Fox and Gase at the end of the season. And part of the reason Gace isn't getting other OC jobs might be that coaches are concerned about losing him to a HC gig next year. Although with Cutler at QB here I don't any coach needs to worry about the OC getting a HC gig.

It'll be interesting to see how he fits in with everyone. I would think this adds credence to the report that Marshall will be gone since Gase was the WR coach in Denver when Marshall was throwing tantrums in practice and punting balls in practice instead of catching them.

Anyway, the Bears look like they have a good coaching staff, so let's hope they can have a good draft, get some better players, and then win some more games.

If the Bears pursue any Broncos players, I think Brandon Marshall (the LB), Orlando Franklin, Terrance Knighton, and Raheem Moore are more realistic Bears targets since they'll be FA's or RFA's.

Personally, I really like Brandon Marshall but I'm not sure he would fit in a 3-4, if they're moving to a 3-4.

Under Adam Gase, Denver scored 30-plus points in 8 games this year. The Bears were 1 of 4 teams that did not score 30 in a game this season

Gase is low on the totem pole. I have heard it is ownership that doesn't want Marshall around. However, this was prior to hiring any new coaching staff, so who knows.

It will be interesting to see how Marshall's situation plays out now. IMO Bears are better off without Marshall. It seems like he's always playing injured and lost a step or maybe he was not motivated at all last season.

The thing that I like about this entire situation is none of these players are really safe. Yes, Jay has a huge contract tied to him, but if they feel there is a better direction to go I think they will take it. Pace has sole possession of this team, and the direction it goes in. I think he will be aggressive in the draft and could even see him trying to move up to get Winston or Mariota. Anything is possible with this coaching staff we have now, this is the best direction I have seen this team go in the last 12 years. I'm not expecting a turnaround to a playoff run next year, but at least a team that is competitive.

Didn't say I wanted it, just saying it is not out of the question.

But in saying that why would you not want either one of them?

    1) I think Winston is not going to make it. I think his off field problems will continue
    2) I think Mariota is going to take a couple years and needs to be a team with a shut down defense.

I disagree on both, but I still would be unsure at drafting either of them. Weak draft class all around for QB's and those 2 are just the big names.

i like the coaching staff, but im not getting my hopes way up for next season. I guess well see how FA and the draft go, but I feel like if we go 8-8 or 9-7 then thats good progress. I just hope theres no 50 point blowouts, and guys dont look completely outclassed out there.

Considering all of the holes the Bears have and the potential switch to a 3-4 defense, I don't think trading up for a QB is a good idea. Maybe if one of those guys was an Andrew Luck type prospect but that's obviously not the case, so it wouldn't be worth it.

The Bears have hired a couple more coaches:

#Bears hire TE coach Frank Smith & strength and conditioning coach Jason George.

I think that leaves WR, RB, LB, and DL

Here is a link to a really good article on Fangio's scheme:

I hope the Bears get the players talented and smart enough to play in it.

This is absolutely a great and valid point. From what I have been hearing there are a lot of pass rushers available that could be an impact player at 7. I hope we go that route, because honestly do we think Jared Allen can play in a 3-4?
