No mate.
The bottom part of the movement is by far the hardest part for me, so if I haven't hit failure during that lower part of the movement I don't have any dramas locking out. Even when I do start to fail, it's usually only the bottom part of the movement I need a bit of a spot with and I'm ok to still lock out.
In saying that it has been a long time since I've hit that kind of weight and I suspect it'll take a little time to get back there and see what my lockout is like at that point. You'll have to speak up, I'm wearing a towel.

Hmm, I've never heard that. Imo it's not a real ohp if you're stopping the bar once your elbows make a right angle. Mine pretty much look like this >> http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/...taryPress.html
The bar makes contact before I start the movement again.Last edited by illiniStrive; 04-04-2012 at 09:02 PM.

Talk more to people at gyms and get an idea of how big the average guy is who has a couple bicycle rides under his belt. You are bigger than 80-90% of guys who have ridden a few bikes. (srs) Most of them are dumb kids, doing silly splits with mostly cable work and maybe a couple half effort half squats every week, or middle aged guys just trying to look a little better as they get into their mid 30's and who do mostly cable curls and cable flyes.

loled thanks brah
I just want to get leaaaaan and see where I stand. There is this one guy who I am pretty sure has/is drinking grape juice based on his lbm and leanness coupled with his training methods lol. I imagine he is around 7-8% 200+ at 5'8. I see him every night doing 15-20 reps of cable flys, lateral raise complexes with 15 lb dumbbells(lol) and a bunch of other seemingly retarded things..
His chest is retard huge and only benches about 205 on the incline?Admin @ No Bull**** Bodybuilding: ********.com/nobull****bodybuildingverified

When you see a guy who is way too big and way to lean for the type of training he does, you don't see him doing heavy-ass barbell work most of the time when he is in the gym who does tons of fluff for volume, yes it is generally a safe bet that he is not only on, but is on a ton of tech. Also he will tell you that his muscles need a full 7 days to recover or he overtrains and if he doesn't get his whey and dextrose post workout he loses muscle and that cable concentration curls really bring out the peaks of his biceps.

Ok I went to a larger gym today where there was about 100 people (vs the normal 10 max where I go).... I've come to realise I'm not that weak lol
There were a few massive roid dudes but most people were benching like 90kg max and 34kg dumbbells, 160kg deads etc lolYes... I've started a log - http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=159357321

With the OHP, for those that go down to their chest and pause before lifting, do you have a slight jump thru the legs to get the weight up to start on heavier sets? Is that bad bad form, and should I drop the weight down?
On lighter sets I have no issues, but when I start to get heavier, I feel like I need a little boost to get started...

If you use your legs it's no longer an OHP...
