PM sent, Cal
This is very sad news. The world lost a great guy. He stood up for people, made us all laugh, honest, helpful. The world needs more people like him. I'll donate cash, buy supps, whatever I can to help.

Terrible news. The loss goes far beyond losing a valuable poster, my heart and condolences go out to those that knew him IRL. This has to be a nightmare to his family and genuine friends. But it looks like this is one of those times that a bunch of us can come together to do a little good. Cal- my PM on the way and I'm certain MN can help here as well.

Wow... I dont even know what to say... Murdered?!?!?!
Illa or whoever, let me know where to send a few cases of XFA for your auction...
I can only imagine if I knew him better, the couple of PMs and millions of lulz he provided made me feel like he was my friend... RIP and all the best for his loved ones

Conor and I have decided to do bracelets similar to the livestrong ones for joey. That way those who can't afford to donate something can spend like $5-10 on something that they can remember him with.
I will grab more info come friday and we will try and iron out a better idea of how/what and how much.
To those who can't afford to give anything, we thank you for your prayers and support as they go a long way.
Joey's brother and girlfriend both thanked this community from the bottom of their hearts for the outpouring of love. They were shocked that there were so many wanting to help, as they assumed he was just an internet guy and had no idea of the lives he touched with his time on here.
I will release more details if/when I am given the ok from the family."What value is there in the grace that I profess if it leaves me unchanged?"

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Though i never met him in person, he was a nice guy on the forums and in PMs. It is sad that this happened, he seems like he had a bright future.

This is pretty shocking. We talked via PM in April because he wanted to go back to grad school and was talking about Sloan. He was into economics and was targeting about 10 schools for next year. He truly was a smart person IRL forget about this forum.
Illa give me your Paypal email via PM when you get a chance...

This is an excellent read.
I don't know why this thread was locked, but it's a great example of the kind of discussion that should be going on.

Great example of placebro holding supplement companies feet to the fire. I just finished reading every word of that thread.

Thank you to everyone who has already contacted me with supplement donations
I can't wait to see the expression when we are able to help the family out financially. It's hard enough to deal with a death. It's even harder when it's a financial burden and there's so much red-tape and stress added to the death of a loved one.
Thank you to everyone in this thread.

While I never met him in real life, the majority of us did not. But despite not seeing him face-to-face, I can say that I know him--or, was getting to know him. He was a great guy. Very intelligent, great sense of humor; one of the few people that acts on the Internet the way he would in person, or I can imagine. Rest In Peace, Joey.

I just heard about this 2 days and finally had a chance to comment. I never met Joey, but enjoy his witty posts.
I am still shocked as I never known anyone to be murdered. I cannont imagine how such rocked those who were close to him.
