I dunno why it gets hate either, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Granted, it's not on the level of cinnamon buns or Sea Salt Caramel, but its certainly not a bad ice cream, and definitely not deserving of the hate it gets.

Sorry guys, but I just don't have time for an in-depth review.

Cliffs: Just what every other 2nd St. Creamery has been to this point-amazing. A respectable vanilla base that is silky smooth, copious amounts of brownie chunks that are moist, chewy, and filled with potent cocoa flavor, and a swirl that is so rich and flavorful it defies words. Once again, the swirl was the winner in this pint. You really need to try this brand to even grasp it. So rich, so thick, so good.

    Opening:

Cross-section showing the pint in all its glory:

A small mountain of brownie chunks:

    The amazing, thick, fudgy swirl:

Again, sorry for my potato of a camera.

Edit: I'm a tech-impaired duck. Not sure why the photos aren't all landscape.

I dont LOVE toffee, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Other toffees I recall trying the toffee is just these little sharp shards throughout the ice cream. The coating on these were a nice surprise as was the size of the toffee pieces!

It really seems like it's pretty close in all these pints. It's like if you went into Coldstone and mixed in 3+ toppings with your ice cream. There's so much going on that the base gets visually lost at times. And all the varying components mesh beautifully despite the crowding, contrary to what you see in a pint like "everything but the..."

Would you say that 2nd St Creamy is worth the money? I found this in a store but at $10.99 for a pint, I had to pass it up. It sounds like it is some quality ice cream though.

Out of all the B&J's cheesecake flavors, the basic Strawberry Cheesecake is probably the best. Even better than the pumpkin cheesecake & blueberry cheesecake special editions and cheesecake brownie (I was surprised it beat the pumpkin!!) Nice review Chad. I'm a cheesecake fiend as well. ...B&J's needs a sweet potato flavor ice cream.

    From the blog:
"The graham cracker swirl is a lovely touch though. Graham crackers can be a very effective mix-in if they aren't one of the best two flavors. Like Bosh on this year's Heat team, it can't carry much of a load on it's own, but it can knock down a few midrange jumpers or grab a few offensive boards to help win the game."
Great basketball analogy! LOL. Great comparison of basketball to ice cream haha. This is why you're a good blogger, Chad

I've tried every single B&J's flavor (EVERY ONE) besides these two
    1. Triple Caramel Chunk
    2. Vanilla Heath Bar Crunch (I've had the Coffee Heath Bar Crunch though)

Almost done with all the Talenti's as well (including sorbet).
My next ice cream treasure hunt once I'm done searching for the last few Talenti flavors and 2 B&J's flavors that I haven't found yet is Blue Bunny Flavors (I've had all their basics but they have a lot of special edition ones that are hard to find).

Weird, of all the cheesecake flavors I liked strawberry the least. Can't wait for fall to roll around for pumpkin though.

Vanilla Heath is good, I think you'll like it. Simple, yet a solid.

When I finish my last three BnJ's (RVC, Cake Batter, and BCG) I'm probably jumping on the Talenti wagon.

Pumpkin spice/autumn flavor is f*cking amazing in ice cream. I cannot wait either until various brands start releasing their seasonal flavors (Apple pie, pumpkin, eggnog, peppermint bark, etc.) As well as B&J's, Haagen Dasz+Blue Bunny even have lots of seasonal flavs.
And I'm sure Vanilla Heat Bar Crunch is very good; Just can't find the damn thing or Triple Caramel Chunk.

Almost bought Strawberry Cheesecake sunday night, opted for Triple Caramel Chunk instead, I'll have to give Strawberry Cheesecake a go next time.
Glad you're enjoying the site, too! I was the same with Strawberry Cheesecake. I passed it time after time in the supermarket and finally decided to grab one.

Eggnog is delicious.. and people seem to hate mint, but I love it. I've actually had Friendly's peppermint ice cream-- I like it a lot! Friendly's actually has decent ice cream, too.

Glad to see some people have found it. Which flavors have you had?

Also, had truck stop fudge last night, but I'm having trouble uploading my pics. I'll work out the technical difficulties and have the money shots later. Since my store doesn't carry the Cannoli or Almond Butter Hazelnut flavors, I've tried all the flavors I'm interested in from 2nd St. Creamery. Now I have to decide my next brand to tackle, and I'm thinking Greater's will be front and center on my hit list.

This holiday season, head to to your freezer aisle and get Haagen-Dazs' Peppermint bark. Quality stuff.

What? Eggnog flavor? Aware me on the brand will hunt that one down, even though I've never had actual eggnog b4.
That's weird that you can't find VHC, I see it all the time. TCC I have never seen though.

I also second the sweet potato idea.

I don't understand BandJ man, I can't get TCC, imagine world peace, peanut brittle, cake batter, brownie batter, or magic brownies. Every other flavor i have tried including scoop shop specials.

In regards to eggnog ice cream, I like turkey hill but I believe edy's makes one as well.
