Chest Press Machine - neutral grip - subsitute for floor press
rack - 2 sets x 12

rack/plate/quarter x 10
rack/plate/35lb x 10, then rack x8 - drop set
Hammer Strength Incline
5 sets x 10
Cable Crossovers
3 sets x 12
Pressdowns/ Kickbacks - supersetted
3 sets x 12
Pretty good day. Shoulders(front delts) were sore for some reason and as usual pain started at 325 but felt fine on everything else. 415 felt heavy, 430 easy, just couldn't lock, right at my weak point, but it shoulda went. 445 felt easy. Planned on doing 2 sets with 445, but was feeling my lower back getting sore, so cut it after one. Cause of my shoulder, I am EXTREMELY limited on what I can do to work the lockout. Boards are out of the question, as is floor pressing and close grips. I may try the Slingshot again when the meet gets closer. I am still making progress as it is. So I don't wanna hurt the shoulder more unless I have to.
Also, had Troy call me to start,on the 445, since the RPS is now using a start command on the bench, I wanna get used to it. Not that its a big deal, I usually hold it for a bit before I start anyway, but wanna get used to the call.

Thanks. Least I had a good day yesterday, but I'll always trade in a good bench day for a good squat day.

Squat Day
The morning just started ****ty. Getting under the bar sucked, chest and delts were sore as **** and my ac join in my left shoulder was hurting, so unracking everything hurt like a motherf*****. Things started feeling better after 420, except for the shoulder, though that got SLIGHTLY better. Anyway, last warmup with 620, tweaked my hamstring AGAIN, on the descent, felt ok on the way up. Good news is that I smoked it( I should, its not heavy), but I did it without even pushing remotely hard cause I was thinking about the hamstring the whole time. So an easy 620 without trying. Bad news, the hamstrign is tweaked. Same one I that I tweaked back in the summer, though this is not as bad. I was almost still gonna attempt 650 until I got off the bench and I felt it gettting up, that ended any thoughts of going again right there and finished the day as I thought it best not to try and do anything else. So hopefully this will heal fast. Last time, it took 2 weeks. We shall see. If it doesn't, well I don't know. Either way, I have to re-evaluate some things. Anyway, I did vid 580 and 620, so might as well post it up. Btw, super ****ing pissed, was not a happy camper in the gym and luckily no idiots from there came up to me after or they mighta got knocked out.

Awesome benching Mike, really solid pauses. I hate when guys say they're doing pauses and get a press command an inch before the bar touches their chest lol.
Sucks about the hamstring man, glad it's not as bad as before. Heal up fast dude!
I kind of wish some idiot in lifting gloves came up to you like "yo brah how much do you curl?" just so one of your buddies could have got you on camera knocking somebody out lol.1493 total in 105 class

Troy calls my pauses as well as checks my depth, he doesn't **** around.
Luckily, most of the idiots in the gym leave me alone. Most know who I am. Though I do occassionally get asked stupid questions or for a spot. I usually just say no. Though did get asked yesterday if I am training for something cause I "train real hard". I pointed to the pictures of me on the wall.
Though I probably wouldn't hit anyone, first I'm too old to fight, though I will if you mess with my wife, and second I don't wanna get kicked out of the gym. Not many good gyms left in Westchester. Probably woulda just yelled or something like that. I think I have video of me cursing some idiot out.
I have also been known to, how you put it, I guess you could say goad people in the gym when I think they're an ******* who they say something stupid. 2 things come to mind:
A guy who THOUGHT he was a bodybuilder said to one of the young kids I trained, that bodybuilding has skill, theres no skill in powerlifting. So when I go to the gym, and he told me, the guy was next to us. So I proceeded to scream NO SKILL on every rep of every set of OHPs, then started him down. Surprisingly, he never said a word.
Then there was this other guy, in his 20s, he thought he was big, but really fat, kept trying to bust my balls that he was gonna catch up to me and whatnot. So on every rep of every set I screamed out, come on you fat **** show me how you're gonna beat me. Never said anything again.
Oh, and this was a long time ago, when my shoulders were real good. Some guy thought he could bench 405, took it down, didn't touch, ass way off the bench and screamed like a little girl benching it. Then walked around like he was the ****. So I took 440 and benched it for 5 the whole time just yelling all day.
Thanks.
I'm about 267-268 right now. I just compete in the 275s open and submaster. Cutting weight is gay.
Not strong enough.Crom Laughs....

Bench Day
barx15
95x12
135x10
225x8
275x6
325x5
385x3
405x1 - paused
425x1 - paused
435x2 - missed 2nd rep, same spot as last week
450x1 - paused
Straight Bar Floor Press (close grip) - used the aerobic steps on the side of the rack to cut the range of motion down
275x8
315x8
365x5
405x1
Hammer Strength Incline
5 sets x 10
Cable Crossovers
3 sets x 12
Pressdowns/Rope Extensions - supersetted
3 sets x 10-12
Good day. Got stuck again in the same spot with 435. This is an issue since I am very limited in assistance to work the upper end. But I decided to try floor press again and to put the steps on the side to cut the range down. Barbell floor presses is almost like doing regular benching for me since the bar touches my chest. But by putting the steps on the side, it cuts it to doing like a 2 or 3 board. Really felt these in the tris, liking these. Didn't bother my shoulder except for racking it. If I can keep doing these for the next 8 weeks, I am pretty confident I can match my best bench at the meet. 450 felt easy btw. Gonna try to squat tomorrow.Crom Laughs....

230x5
320x3
420x3
480x1
530x1
580x1
620x1
650x2
Glute/Ham Raises
3 sets x 8-10
Calf Raises on leg press
8 plates - 4 sets x 20
I wasn't expecting much today. Wasn't sure how the hamstring would feel. So every set was taken very tentatively and wasn't really pushing like I should, including the 650. So it was pretty slow on both reps, but I got them and the hamstring felt fine the whole time. Good thing was that the weight didn't feel heavy, though my left ac joint bothered me a bit again after the set. Always something.Crom Laughs....

Shoulder was really hurting me today. I wanted to do a few more sets on bench before the heavier stuff, trying 435x2 again but decided to just cut it and do heavy work set singles. The goal was 455 today anyway and accomplished that easily. Also would have liked to do some more floor presses, but least I got some in.Back is still pretty sore from last week, so I'll see how squats go tomorrow.Crom Laughs....

I knew squatting Sunday would be rough. My back was bothering me all week, never recovered and benching didn't do it any favors. But I decided to try anyway on Sunday. I stretched for a while and rode the bike. Now, my left shoulder has been bothering me slightly lately on squats, well yesterday, slightly turned into really bad. Unracking and walking out every weight was not pleasant. So this was not that great a day. I'm actually surprised I was able to hit anything over 600. But once I did hit 6, I really started feeling my lower back and it fatiqued real quick.

This weekend hasn't been the best. Been fighting a cold all week. Went to the doctors Friday night, was afraid it was turing into an upper respiratory infection again, seems to happen to me lately. Turns out I had a cold and a very bad sore throat. Got anti-biotics and cough medicine. I am also in the process of buying a house and been having some problems this week. Suppose to close next week but the sellers lawyer is being a dick. So I was really not a happy camper Friday night. So between being sick and this house bull****, was NOT in the mood to train this weekend. So, Saturday's benching suffered, so I am not even gonna log yesterday. Today was not too bad, but coulda been better. Weight didn't move as fast as I'd like, but considering everything, not a bad day. I will probably not bench or squat next weekend. Be busy fixing up the house and moving ****, if it goes through. I may train Saturday, but not bench, shoulder can use the rest. And doubt I'll squat, why I made sure to squat today even though I wasn't up for it. Anyway:

Thanks. Would have perferred it moved faster, but considering everything, its good. I should be better in 2 weeks
I'm moving back to Yonkers. Off of Tuckahoe Road, one exit before Ridge Hill and The Home Depot. Which I just got a nice new credit card for and it already has $500 on it and I don't have the house yet!! Not sure its a dream home, but its a nice 3 bedroom, 2 bath house. Big basement, gonna turn one room down there into a gym. Its actually right next to my friend Troy, hes the guy in the video telling me to walk it in. I apparently my already have a squat rack and reverse hyper for it.Crom Laughs....

LOL....well, Troy advised me to dress as intimitating as possible. So I was gonna wear a tank top to closing, but the wife won't let me. I just hope he doesn't open his mouth and say something stupid, that may not go well. I don't think I can hold my temper in check right now.

I didn't lift "heavy" from Oct 2009 to January of this year. Heavy being, the most I would squat was 550, no 600+ squats and only benching mid 3s. I have skipped days here and there. Like last week I did no work for my shoulders, even though that surprisingly doesn't bother my shoulder. This weekend I will not be benching(though I may do some other work) and squatting, due to working on the house all week and weekend. This was planned. This will give me 5 training weeks lieft to gut out, and I plan on training with a ****ing vengeance. **** the pain, I am stronger than the pain. I will get through the 5 weeks to hit 700 on the squat.
And, I used to rent. First house, never wanted one, still don't, but the wife does. So I said she can get a house, but next year I get my Dodge Challenger RT.
But as of 4pm today, I own a house. As usual, got questions about my size and my tattoos. Least I didn't have to threaten or knock out the sellers lawyer.Crom Laughs....

Honestly don't remember how bad they were hurting. But def hurt more going over 600. But being on a steady diet of Aleve has helped. My knees were good till I turned 35, and getting ready for the last meet I did, which was in Oct 09. Squatted an easy 670 and missed 700 twice then.
I can't wait to see 700 too!! Gonna be a bit rough, but got some inspiration today from my favorite,I guess you can say "reality" tv stars. Hint, shes on the History Channel. LOL
Thanks. I'd post some pics, but I don't think I can.Crom Laughs....
