I'd say there is carry over. This fed allows knee wraps. I put them on for the 297 just cause it made me feel more confident esp after hearing in the pre-meet meeting about a dude's patella blowing in a meet about 3 years ago when he was squatting like 500+ and the spotters caught him and the bar safely. Lesson of the story stay with the bar and trust the spotters . . . oh and for me personally knee wraps are not a bad thing when going for PR's.
This time . . .my home scale 162.0 fresh out of the shower. About a hour later after one more restroom trip then weigh in 161.2.
The previous meet it was 165.3 (vaguely recall) home scale to 164.60 meet scale which at the time had me freaking out at how close I was cutting it. My home scale has been know to be flaky within minutes of multiple weigh-ins so I'd say the meet scale is more accurate/consistent by far.
Also I just made the video viewable My Bad had it on private.
When you watch the vid you'll note I need a lotta work on making my bench explosive the slow and steady don't work so well when I need to be technically perfect not just make the lift.Last edited by beatha; 02-03-2013 at 10:07 AM.

Wow those lifts went up like butter! Squats looked super easy for you (although you're squatting basically my max DL and that shiz is heavy for sure!) I'm amazed how cool and collected you always are, don't seem to struggle.
Yes I noticed the little stutter on the last bp attempt, was actually surprised that didn't count since you were only stuck for a second. Is it required that you do the pause as long as you are? I know you have to listen to the judge's commands as to when you can press, just didn't know if you were perhaps getting stuck down there longer than nessesary. 181 bp passed in the meet this time, what was the one for your last meet? Even with that small issue you're still winning overall. Get that bench sorted and you'll be unstoppable! Does winning meets like this qualify you to compete in like a National meet some point this yr? Was this meet a local or state one close to where you live?Current PRs:

Wow B ... you are Amazon Amazing! I am just in awe of your strength. I'd be so nervous with all of the people hovering around watching me. I'm so proud of you!!!! Like Hammerz asked, is there a National meet or anything like that? If you're ever close to Swooshieville I would seriously come see you compete. Way to go, sista

Hi! Thanks for the congrats and for stopping by the journal I appreciate it.
Thanks, honestly I don't like bombing so I pick what I know I can do then make reasonable jumps depending on how I feel at the moment. I was quite nervous on the 1st squat and paused on the way up thinking "Did I make depth?" clearly I did but nerves had me 2nd guessing. Not that I coulda gone back down to be sure lol at myself. I zone a lot when prepping for a lift or even when warming up. Only a tiny chatter for the most part. I hope people don't think I'm being unfriendly or stuck up. I'm an introvert but I always respond to peoples comments and helpful tips . . . gotta few after that 1st squat namely "Your stronger than that. So why did ya pause? Don't pause." On the 2nd was don't relax at the bottom which helped on the 3rd squat.
Obi-wan was shocked / proud when she watched me initiate a conversation with some people Bea is growing up and out . . . just a little bit.

Thank S I was nervous as hell but eventually hit my zone. While lifting never saw anything other than the bar or a focal point on the far wall. Watched others lift and clapped a lot so I "saw" everyone but didn't let it myself focus on the fact that people were watching me.
This was the State Championship meet about 1/2 hour drive from home. Same location as the Nov meet where I qualified for nationals just by participating and being an active member. This feds USA Nationals meet is this summer, June 8th, in stinky Vegas wanna be Laughlin, Nevada. Yes, I plan on going. May or may not due a meet between now and then.Last edited by beatha; 02-03-2013 at 05:07 PM. Reason: spelling as alwas and fninshing unfnished/unclear thoughts ... duh :p

I think you are discovering a lot about yourself each time you compete in these meets ...careful...your confidence is showing
Is the vital zoning place you like to be, a high state of concentration? Incidently /\/\ It is great to know what is going on through your head, how you felt and the "mentally questioning yourself" through the process. You must drive yourself crazy lol And toss aside the constant worry of what people are thinking of you and just **** lift!! Wanna hire me as your PT?
Oye that stutter, if you watch it full screen you can see the slight drop, At the time I was too disappointed to ask why the flags, watched the vid while next 2 flights were BPing. As for the pause it lasts till the head ref says "Press" which the guy was very good about saying as soon as the bar is motionless. On that last one it took me a moment to stop motion at the bottom so it really was my fault for pause length. Heavy negatives will be in my future.
I was nervous as hell but eventually hit my zone. While lifting never saw anything other than the bar or a focal point on the far wall. Watched others lift and clapped a lot so I "saw" everyone but didn't let it myself focus on the fact that people were watching me.

Way to go and terrific ass-kicking work Bea!! Just got back from a very busy week and was dying to know how the meet went - On fire! Loved watching your vid, you must come away from meet performances like this buzzing and on a real high!
Those numbers... Sheeeeet!!.

Ham
In answer to your question, which I just realized I forgot to respond to, at the nov meet I boomed at 187 twice and left with only my opener of 170. Seems I keep reaching with the BP and falling just a bit shy of what's needed.
Thanks Tina There were 5 other females none of us in the same weight class and/or age division of unequipped. Everyone pushed themselves but ah no as close a meet as the last one even given coeff equalization,
Hiya P Hope it was good nap. Not much beats a good nap except good cake.

Hiya Lou, sure you can be my PT *positive thinking* enforcer Ahhhhhh confidence what's that?
I'm glad you found my rambling reply's interesting reading. Hope I can fix somethings and do better next time.
I'm def growing a bit as a person just getting out there. Thinking it's an age thing with me, the older I get the less I'm holding myself back, or my extrovert partner is rubbing off on me after nearly 10 years. As for the zone I'm talking about . . . it's just a quite concentrated state of mind . . . most everything outside whats necessary to pay attention to just falls away to the periphery. Great state to be when competing but very bad place to go to when people I don't wanna listen to are talking and they expect me to be paying attention . . . lulz. During my teen years my zone drove the parental units to speak to me way too frequently . . . not sure how they knew I was not paying attention . . .Last edited by beatha; 02-04-2013 at 06:54 PM.

Thanks Steph I'll try to make it look hard next time . . . not srs.
Hiya NB Much thanks from one badass to another . It's really good to see you back here.
Haha I see what you did dere . . . Mighty Liftn' Bea likes de funnies
Looking forward to working on my comp benching starting Sunday perhaps. The rest of this week I'm just going to do my martial arts classes. Tonight was no-gi and I can tell I'm still recovering as I didn't have two back to back 3 minute roll sessions in me after an hour of drills. Calf cramping and a heart rate felt like I was exerting myself more than I really was. The bonus 20 minutes of conditioning at the end were just peachy . . . it's good for me I know so suck it up.
In passing spoke to the trainer K who helped me in Oct with a few form check sessions. If I read his expression correctly he seemed kinda impresses with my numbers . . . for a PL newbie . . . lol . . . mentioned I'll be seeing him couple time is 2013 for form checks/corrective action planning - in person & vid - no $$$ for full time coach so for now I'll just keep doing what I do with 531. Pick chit up then put it back down again *then repeat*Last edited by beatha; 02-05-2013 at 09:14 PM.
