Good...If the world changes you will be forced into dealing with a host of challenges you have never faced. Most people have never been in the wilderness for more than a night (if that)..You need to get outdoors and learn if you havent. Learn how difficult it is to simply start a fire or boil water...Learn how difficult it is to set a snare...Most of the reality TV survival shows make it look easy...Skin an animal? Gut a fish? When the grocery store is closed...YOU are the butcher, farmer, etc...People have lost ALL of their self reliance skills.
You must go do it and respect it before you are forced to live it...But if you listen real close, you can hear them whisper their legacy to you. Go on, lean in. Listen, you hear it? - - Carpe - - hear it? - - Carpe, carpe Landīca, seize IT boys, make your lives extraordinary.

Coming from a brah who has lived through 2 pretty large natural disasters (where normal life was impacted for a while) you need prepare by doing the following:
* Stockpile bottled water and canned/non-perishable food. For the first few days after the quakes most supermarkets weren't open, and when they did the shelves were raped harder than a skinny white guy by Bubba in the prison shower block. Seriously, all the useful stuff just vanished within minutes- people go a bit feral. Don't rely on being able to easily purchase food or get clean water, is what I'm saying.
* Get a portable radio, torches, plenty of batteries, first aid kits - these things are crucial and you should have a big kit at home, as well as a smaller kit in your car.
* Have a plan - plan what you will do in the worst case scenario with your family/spouse/whoever you live with.
* Stock up on the smokes, bud, and booze - this might sound stupid, but they can act almost as a currency in terrible situations. I saw a few people trading their food/water for ciggies. They also calm you down a bit haha. Worst case scenario? Get trashed and live your last few hours feeling no pain. (I am being joking here of course)
I can't make recommendations about guns because guns are almost impossible to buy in NZ.ATTENTION MISC ENTREPRENEURS - do you own a website and want to get more traffic and sales?
