What do you mean, "getting sick?" Having colds? Puking?
I remember times when I'd be in an overtrained state, feeling a bit run-down and subject to more frequent and long-lasting colds. Maybe it doesn't have anything to do, at all, with your protein powder.
Maybe you've developed an allergy to something in your diet. You think it's, maybe, your protein shake?
I'd see a doctor, if it was bad enough.

I'm going to raise another point that's seldom addressed. All protein powders are NOT the same and you always should check the labels (i.e., don't simply use it because a friend likes it, or the price is absurdly too good to be true). Check the glycine level (glycine tests as protein as is used by certain manufacteurs to up the protein), fillers, lactose, etc. and whether or not it's been tested by an independent lab.
Inactivity Kills!!!

Under normal circumstances, and assuming a good quality whey, I would say the abundant availability of amino acids would, if anything, improve the performance of your immune system. One possibility is that you are lactose intolerant or have a minor allergy to an ingredient.
There are varying degrees of intolerance and many many people who are LI dont even know it. Dairy products and by-products have a moderate-severe inflamation inducing response for the body. One side effect is that the bodies mucosal membranes become more active than they usually are. This gives the illusion of having a cold, sniffle or hayfever like symptoms.
I would suggest that you try a pure whey protein isolate with less than 0.1g of lactose per 20g of whey.

If you are training hard and not getting good nutrition it can starve your immune system. My past failures at working out were because I wasn't eating well and I'd get sick, sometimes for a month or two. I've had close to a year now of working out and watching my diet. So far I've been watching others around me get sick while I stay nice and healthy (hope I didn't just jinx myself).
Also, keep the hands clean and try not to touch your face -- simple but it helps.
Supposedly the 100% pure whey isolates that chunkysnowman suggested are good for people with lactose issues.
