I'm sorry buddy, but that's like asking what it takes to be an Olympic sprinter or a world class chess grandmaster. It's not realistic for 99.9999% of the population. IFBB pros have muscle-building genetics as far beyond that of a normal person as Stephen Hawking has in intellect.
You can train every day for two hours a day, eat perfectly and cycle correctly for 10 years and you might become a strong amateur bodybuilder, but the odds of becoming a pro are minimal. It just takes too many variables to be right: muscle insertions, muscle length, bone structure, height, mass gaining genetics, genetic response to the necessary drugs, an extremely rare degree of mental focus, etc.
Do your best to be as big and fit as you can be, and if it's in the cards for you you might make it somewhere, but don't be disappointed if you don't.Weight on the bar, food in your stomach, more of both = more muscle. Don't make this harder than it is. - VikingMan

You don't choose to become an IFBB pro just like you don't choose to be a pro sprinter or a pro swimmer. The sport chooses you. There are soooo many genetic factors that are needed to be a top tier bodybuilder it's not even funny.
People think anybody can megadose supplements and become an IFBB pro, uhm no. There are TONS of amateur bbers that abuse supps probably as much as the pros but look completely different.
Some of the things you need to have: good supp response, resilient body to withstand supps, great muscle bellies, great muscle insertions and shape, great proportions, high overall number of muscle fibers, durable skeleton and ligaments to withstand injuries, good digestive system and many many others that there is no need to list now. The point is that nobody can just take supps and become an IFBB pro, that's not even close.

Look at Bostin Lloyd
The man probably takes a lot more supplements than some of the top pros, but I dont think he is even an IFBB pro yet.
It all comes down to genetics, and then drive.
Even if you have top tier genetics, chances are you won't have the drive to put yourself through what people that are number 1 in the sport put themselves through.

Reading this thread caused me to think about what "genetics" really means to the whole mix. I wonder whether something beyond the physical gifts (sturdy bone structure and sweeping lines, good insertions, small joints, strong digestive tract, good response to gear, ability to have thin skin, etc.) is also genetically determined. Is a person's dedication, desire, drive something that is genetically determined? Are people who stand out from the crowd blessed with some superior genetic gift of dedication?
Lift long and prosper.

Never let anyone tell you what you are and are not capable of. Your heart, work ethic, and determination is what is going to get you anywhere you would like to be..Yes genetics can take you a long way but so does knowledge and hard work...learn your body, take your time (the journey), and be open minded in this industry...You have to have a passion for it and not let it feel like a job. Just remember this "Where your mind goes, your body follows." That applies both inside and outside of the gym. Use it wisely.
“As a kid I always idolized the winning athletes. It is one thing to idolize heroes. It is quite another to visualize yourself in their place. When I saw great people, I said to myself: I can be there.â€-Arnold Schwarzenegger
