RDL

GHR
BW x 8 (3 sets)
Abs
Planks
BW x 45 sec (3 sets)
I had a lot of stuff going on yesterday. Event training, push mowed lawn for a couple hours, changed brakes on my truck, moved a table across town for a coworker, fixed a few things at GF's mom's house....all of which had me wiped out today. Add to that I worked until 7:30 and I decided to have a lighter day.
In addition, I have a thought that my lack of front squatting has affected my strength with the log/axle in the rack position. Perhaps even my deadlift strength. Sure there are other variables, but I feel the need to add front squats back in. RDLs will replace sumo SLDL's until my run of contests is over just to keep a bit of stress off my low back. Probably just going to keep them light and higher reps.

Careful what you wish for
Yeah, I wouldn't normally, but I have a contest coming up that is a axle dead for reps where straps are allowed....so I am practicing. Very angry that I cannot find my axle straps though. Those would be nice.
Yeah, I mean the bar has no flex, rotation and since it is thicker it puts it more out in front of you. Makes for a tougher pull. Plus, even with standard straps, you don't have a great grip on the bar, thus cannot pull it really fast off the floor. A slower pull places a bit more emphasis on the back throughout the movement.
Just my take supported by the current soreness in my back.Strongman Training Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=138026593

Events
Monster DB Press
125 x 3 (12")
155 x 2 (14")
175 x 1 (14")
*Contest weight will be 190. I may get lucky and nail one.
Keg Toss
6 keg run x 16' (3 runs through)
*Went head to head with a WSM competitor on these (kinda). My best run was 14.42 seconds. We were trying to figure out pace for the winning runs at WSM. They throw 8 kegs, with the heaviest being twice as much as our heaviest....at the same pace as my best run. Just silly. The vid below was my first run and they got better from there.
Yoke
600 x 80' (2 trips)
Spent most of the day helping others out. Contest is in two weeks and there were a lot of guys that showed up to train on the contest equipment. Not bad overall, but had a lot more work in there showing people how to do it. Going to try and yoke once more this week....maybe.

Had to rearrange the gym for a few reasons. One, get more room behind me when I press so what happened last week shouldn't happen again. Two, got a new rack . Mixed emotions as it did come from DanG's basement gym and was the last piece of equipment down there, less a smaller rack, power bar, high pulley machine and some plates he kept for training in the future. Just won't be like it once was.
Anywho, here is a tour of the gym.

Squats
SSB Squats
370 x 1
410 x 1
450 x 1
*Felt very strong. Walkout was a bit off. Had to get use to the new settings on the rack and set the hooks a notch too high. One setting lower and a few weeks down the road and I will triple this.
Front Squats
275 x 3
315 x 3
335 x 3
*Had a couple in the tank. Felt great here. Very powerful and plenty in reserve. Second week back to these, so I didn't want to push it too much.
RDL
225 x 20 (2 sets)
GHR
BW x 8 (3 sets)
Abs
Planks
BW x 50 sec (3 sets)
Another late day....but it is what it is.

After seeing a hard workout you may want to complain and want others to pity you for the work you have to do. Your mom will pity you. Your girl will pity you. I may pity you, but your competition will not pity you. They will step on you, walk over you and spit on you. Boris Sheiko

NAILED it!
Danka senior
it really is.
Did not press as planned last night. Shoulder felt off during warmups, so I just did some RC type work and some planks and stuff. No need to push it now as I have a DB in a couple weeks and a log in 5 weeks. I need my left should health for the log so that I don't zero a light freaking log.
Off today and a rather heavy deadlift scheduled for Thursday.Strongman Training Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=138026593

Deadlift
4" Block Pulls
535 x 2 (fast, absolutely smoked)
585 x 1 (again, really fast)
625 x 1 (felt really, really good)
675 x 0 (Whoops, overshot a bit)
*675 wasn't in the cards, but the way 625 went, I am very, very happy with the day.
Trap Bar Pulls
510 x 5 (3 sets)
Yoke
365 x 150' (2 sets)
455 x 150' (2 sets)
545 x 150' (1 set)
545 x 75' in 13.02 sec (1 set)
*Felt awesome. Will be using that yoke in a contest on 8/23, so it was good to try out.
GHR ss with Planks
BW x 10/Bw x 45 sec (3 sets)
*Did these when I got back home....silly idea.
Went to Strength Haven today (gym across town) to train with coworker again. I wanted to pull heavy....not as heavy as I did, but it felt good. Goal was heavy pulls from blocks, then side handle work (8/2 contest prep), then yoke for conditioning/speed. Goals accomplished. No video though.Strongman Training Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=138026593
