    Bench angle for incline press?

What's the ideal angle to have the bench for incline DB press?

Usually I have it at 60 degrees roughly, but I feel like i may be putting to much emphasis on shoulders.

    Thanks.

Yeah, 60° seems a bit too high to me. I like to experiment with different angles but usually keep it at 30°

Fixed incline BB bench stations tend to be at around 30 degrees from horizontal. That's probably about the ideal angle. For the adjustable benches, a lot of people put it at 45 degrees... which is a mistake. They always have a 30 degree setting. Use that.

    Now the question is:
What's the ideal angle for flat bench? Hint: not actually 'flat'.
A slight decline is better. I usually use an iron plate and prop the bench up a little.
Then just skip the decline bench altogether.

Interesting. I will definitely try this.

I'm guessing it activates more of the chest?

    anywhere from 1-89 degrees.

Majority on here is 30 degrees, with 45 coming in second.

Helps improve/assist proper technique, and muscle activation -- slightly better angles. The most natural pressing motion for the pecs is at a slight decline. Definitely less than 10 degrees though. I'd say even less than ~5 is all you need, if your back is arched and your pressure is on the traps like it should be.
