I have been body building for 8 weeks now and I am still unable to squat.*Basically*I lose balance when I go down which results in me falling over backwards. Is or has anyone*experienced*anything like this? If so how did you overcome it.

Many have.
Your form most likely sucks. You should probably take a gander at the Fundamentals of the Back squat in the stickies of this very section. Possibly film yourself so we can tell you what you're doing wrong.-

i would suggest look up a few videos on proper form and then hit the gym and squat just using the bar itself for a few sets of 15-20 reps so you can get the right form and balance down. but dont put any weight on the bar yet. do that for a few workouts til you feel you have the proper balance and form. til then use the smith to squat.

I didn't start lifting until about 240lbs OP and I had balance issues also. I suggest downloading some basic yoga routines and looking up stretches that help flexibility. Also highly recommend buying starting strength. I worked on my squat form for months just going off the internet guides and feel like my form has improved more in the few weeks since I bought the book than it did during those months.
