    Ok so I have been going around posting this on multiple threads
    "Push ups are actually better then bench press(I know it's hard to believe). A recent study has shown that push-ups activates your pecs,triceps and even your shoulders more then a bench press. That's why a guy that can do a lot of push ups can bench more thn a guy who just benchs and can't to push-ups. I have been doing push ups for years now, without doing any bench and the first time I did a bench press(a week ago) I ws benching 265 with ease. I only weigh 165 and benched 265x10(it's amazing I know). This fact and the study prove that, the old saying bench is better than push ups is false and an old wives tale, good luck and take what I said into account if you really want to get big and ripped."

    After posting this I have encountered many haters that have been calling me a troll and a lier, but are really just mad because I have found groundbreaking study and am a living witness of it. So here is a video of me doing 265x4 after doing 75 push ups...since the site won't let me post links, just go on youtube and post this at the back

    Even if you have been benching for a week, you wouldn't have had that form.

    That form was someone who had experiencing with bench pressing like a power lifter.

    A one week bencher doesn't use a belt and wrist wraps for benching.

    A one week bencher doesn't know how to properly tuck their legs, arch their back, lower the bar to their sternum, tuck their elbows, or have the wrist twist.

    Yes because those techniques are so hard to perfect on ones own.

    When it comes to equipment he could be using someone else's.

    I can attest to this truth. I do only push ups (different types ex. planche push ups, close, etc etc) . I weigh 173 and can bench 280.

    I'm inclined to believe chazzy1864 here. You don't perfect form by reading books and watching videos. You perfect it by performing the movement and tweaking what needs to be changed.
    Bodybuilding is 60% training and 50% diet. Yes that adds up to 110%, because that's what you should be giving it. Change the inside, and the physique will follow.

    Unless you are a powerlifter, I also don't undertand why people do the bench press, when you can do the weighted pushup. It's much more functional.

    Do you think that if you bench pressed regularly and tried to increase your strength on the lift that it would improve? If you don't bench press, how can you say that one is better than the other? Yes, you are stronger at it than many your size, but there are many benchers out there that don't do push-ups and bench relatively more than you.

    well if u benched 265lbs 10 times, you could probably get 315lbs x 1, at 165lbs which would be 1.9 times your bodyweight, for a first time weight lifter.... idaf who you are you dont bench that much your first time, i believe Ryan Kennelly's first bench was around that but at over 200lbs bodyweight... strong bs from op.

    I believe someone who is still challenged by push ups with weight added can benefit from push ups but once they surpass that weight a Bench is the only way to get stronger.

    Buuuuut

    Your account says you are 20 years old The videos profile says you are 28. You say you just started benching but this video is benching over a year ago.

    That alone proves you are a liar. You could have an argument but you ruined it by being a liar and discredited any information you brought to the table.

    Also there is no study proving Push ups > bench press on chest growth because your muscles adapt to stress so more stress = faster and more intense growth. If I do 100 bicep curls with a penny every day I have no need to adapt other then my endurance levels. If I use a 60lb weight I will grown and adapt.

    Just read learn and dont lie. You just end up looking pathetic for no reason.

    I dont understand why you would lie as you are just wasting your own time.

    It is a common misconception that push ups have a hard limit when it comes to strength increase. Yes, if someone were to do just regular push ups (no changes in leverage) then their strength would cap and they would begin to build endurence. However, by decreaseing leverage and thus making the exercise more difficult one can continue to increase strength, although not indefinitely, but for while.

    Examples of decreasing leverage

    Planche push ups
    Pseudo -planche push ups
    Ultra wide push ups
    Elbow in body straight one are push ups
    Close elevated push ups
    One arm elevated push ups
    There are more but I can't recall

    So yeah its all about being dynamic and decreasing leverage. Ever since I have practiced planche push ups and the like my bench has been steadily increasing. I don't have a legit "log" so you are going to have to take my word for it.
