    One Day Arm Cure Part 2 (follow up experiment)

    Alright misc brahs... After seeing swolebraahh's thread and doing some research, I decided to try the 8 hour workout found on this site:*

    The only differences between my experiment and his is that I'm a little younger (just turned 17), I am taking creatine, and I will be drinking more water (2-3 gallons a day)... So we'll see if there's any differences in results.

    I started off this morning at 14.5" (don't make fun I haven't been lifting that long). *Here's a picture:



    I went through the 8 hour workout and it was tough. *During the morning sessions you basically have your normal workout pump and you are doing fine... the 501 tempo was tough and contributed to the pump a lot, but you could handle it. *I was right at the weight where I could barely finish within the range they set for reps per set. *MAKE SURE YOU STICK WITH THE TEMPO THE ARTICLE SETS IT INCREASES PUMP.

    However, after you continued on and increased reps, it got increasingly harder and harder... I actually had to have someone lift the weight off me while doing close grip bench with really low weight (feltweakman) and had to go to smith machine after that.

    People didn't really ask me wtf I was doing at the gym except for a couple of workers, but they did bertstare at the 20 minutes of rest and 10 minutes of work.

    By the end I was burning like your legs do after running a ton of sprints. *Kind of a pump, but more burning. *I would always go to failure within the set rep range (if I didn't then I would adjust weight).

    I ate my meals at the gym and didn't give one fuk. *2 sweet potatoes and 2 chicken breasts (4 half ones sauteed).

    Results PWO:
    Basically, unlike any other pump I've ever had, my arms shrunk after the 8 hour workout (as expected). *I drank roughly 2-3 gallons during that period and I was pissing like a racehorse, so I knew it wasn't dehydration, there was something happening on the chemical level.

    Anyway... I shrunk to a solid 14.25":



    Shrunken pump... feltweirdman....

    Anyways, I've been eating a lot of calories, carbs and protein mostly, and drinking a lot of water... let's hope I get some magic to happen overnight for the misc.

    16 HOUR UPDATE:

    I didn't get to sleep quickly probably because of eating too much/drinking too much before bed, but I slept fine after that (was kind of excited to see results).

    Anyway.... overnight I grew to a solid 14.8" or 14.9" (net gain of about 3/8 inches like the article said). *But I think Ill be gaining more throughout the day if I continue eating, drinking, and taking creatine. *And here is your pic misc:

    How this works:

    Since the experiment seems to be going well so far, I guess I'll explain how this process works after experiencing the workout and growth.

    This process is called glycogen overcompensation and its actually pretty straight forward, but this particular workout has it's ways to skate around the broscience of cortisol and inflammation and other stuff.

    Glycogen is the chain of carbs that your muscles use for energy during anaerobic exercise (lifting). *The whole point of this workout is to deplete glycogen so that your body will overcompensate by storing more during recovery. *We want this because more glycogen causes more water to rush into the muscle cells, which is sarcoplasmic hypertrophy.

    I think the way this workout gets around the cortisol and inflammation are those 20 minute rest breaks. *I think it get's your body to start the recovery process and stop and cortisol release, release the enzyme glycogen synthase, but then you work again before your muscles start actually recovering.

    Glycogen synthase is the enzyme that builds glycogen inside of your muscle cells. *It's important in this because when a lot of it is present, youll have a lot of sarcoplasmic hypertrophy. *Each time you work for 10 minutes, more glycogen synthase is released after you deplete more glycogen, and it builds up over the 8 hour period. *Then when you eat carbs in the next 4 days, you're storing more glycogen and getting bigger.

    I'm still unsure as to if this hypertrophy is permanent, but that's why we experiment. *I don't see why it wouldn't be as long as I'm eating enough carbs and protein and drinking a lot of water, but there may be a mechanism I'm not accounting for.

    24 HOUR UPDATE:

    Arms seem to be sitting at around 15". *They aren't really sore anymore (triceps are still a little). *It might just be my imagination but I think my pecs might've grown a little too (no pics because it's not noticeable and no before measurements). *Pic:

    48 HOUR UPDATE:

    Arms are fine and no longer sore (only when I fully flex triceps). *I went to soccer practice today and did some running, so we'll see tomorrow if that had any effect/time. *They're still sitting at around 14.9", so not much has been lost so far. *I approve of this at least as a short term "pool party" boost as some will call it (although the eating that many carbs and drinking water may take away from abs). *Here's the pic:

    Was actually thinking about trying it for a while. The reason I wanted to do all arms was because I know construction workers who have huge arms without ever going to the gym. They say they lift heavy things 6-7 hours a day.
