You don't have to lose it, I guess you can maintain it. I asked a similar question on the powerlifting section not too long ago and someone said that I won't gain any strength on a cut. I waited for someone else to chime in and say, "well, that's not totally right." but after so many views later and no more responses I just accepted it, haha. Doesn't mean I still won't try to get stronger when I cut, though.

You can gain it, it's just a slooow tedious process. I've literally never trained in a calorie surplus and I'm definitely stronger than when I started.

I'm only benching like 175 right now, you think if I keep cutting for about 3 more months I could get it up to 200-220?

Hard to say, it comes down to the individual and your training regime. That's 10-15lbs a month to gain on your bench in a deficit, that's pretty rough to do unless you are very fat or something, so I doubt it tbh.

Well mine has gone up, but then again, i cheat hard a couple times a week so maybe the few days of surplus are acting as mini bulks. Still leaning out though.
