How To Divide Calories When Cutting?

So when bulking its maintenance +500 calories with like a 40/40/20 (protein, carbs, fat) diet or 30/50/20 but a lot of people seem to cut the carbs when cutting. So when cutting you eat maintenance -500 but how do you divide up the calories?

Don't worry about percentages, just work on hitting individual macro needs. On a cut I'd eat a bit more protein, closer to 1.5g per pund of bw. Then then rest is just personal preferance, you can divide it either way. As long as you eat a bit more protein, eat at the same deficit, the actual ratios of carbs:fat is irrelvant. Imo, I'd choose more carbs over fat, but that's me.

You eat 500 calories below maintenance, make sure your getting 1g lb/bw in protein and make sure your hitting fat's as well and disregard the rest.
