    Yeh that does sound like win win lol strong with abs! I'm looking to get my DL up myself, most I got about 2 years ago was 495 1RM do looking to be able to get back to that for reps and increase 1RM. Only start back on DLs last back workout, so couple if months to get some good strength back

    Strong as **** cuz. My deadlift highest was 545 I believe for a few reps. But i havent really dl all year. Stopped around Sept last yr I think. Just always had a Sharp pain while doing them. Did 405 a few weeks back and thought I was gonna snap. Bench a strong lift for me as well. Most i ever lifted was 475 x 2 but i was 250 plus and dat der bol run. Looking to get a 5 plate by end of year. Squats o quit going heavy heavy on them but can rep 405 Stfu like 3 times maybe. I do a lot of super sets w leg press and squats first, then later front squats. It'd be fun to actually train for strength and do a pl show, but first I wanna do a bb show.

Tracking strength gains is just as fun for me and as I'm sure it is for most of us and as much as I like looking good, nothing makes me feel more alpha than hitting a new lift PR.

    Certainly is bro and I agree, looking good is one thing but getting a PR and getting stronger is just one extra variable that can be measured, thus improvement can be seen and measured.

    Haha. It wasn't just me who had the idea tho remember and obviously it was what everyone wanted. I feel like I know a bit more about the regular posters here, which is great.

    It's actually got me eating properly and training hard - added 5lb in weight since thread started and eating 3700 cals a day, must have been sub 3000 beforehand!!

    I like 3 exercises for building a good back.
    1. deadlifts or rack pulls (erectors overall thickness)
    2. pullups (upper back teres major and minor)
    3. chest supported db rows. (primarily your lats)

    For chest:
    1. bb bench press (flat or incline)
    2. db presses (flat or incline)

    I'm a firm believer in compound movements so flies are never a part of the deal for me.

    Although as for flies etc, some people have built really good chests with mostly fly movements and less pressing.. so I suppose the moral there is as always - each persons body responds differently to different exercises..therefore, varierty is the key.

    But there's never any getting away from it - Compounds build thickness and strength all day!

    Thanks for the tips. Basically every time I train chest I'll always do barbell or dumbbell on both flat and incline, if I'm doing flies it's normally only a few sets at the end to get a better pump. I guess I'll try changing my reps and sets.

    Back is a bit of an issue for me, I've got two worn discs and deadlifting is hit and miss for me, sometimes I can sometimes I can't. The pullups and chest supported dumbbell rows I do religiously 4 sets each. I just need to get back into deadlifting one week at a time.

    Pretty much, I guess it just depends on which movement your joints prefer and if you've got a good mind/muscle connection. I'll give flies a proper try again tomorrow and maybe switch up the way I do them.
