Weight is probably around 235. Was like 245 2 weeks ago, but caught a stomach bug and had that for like a 1.5 weeks. Wasn't able to eat **** or hold anything down. Felt bad. Been eating again past 2 days. BULK MODE. Abs look better up close, but I havent touched cardio since June. Feelsgoodman no cardio
And my little man hitting his front double bi. So funny when he does his most muscular because he makes the grunting sound as well. Cracks me up

Great stuff, guys. Even those of you who don't compete look like you could one day step on stage. It's obvious that the posters in this section take their fitness very seriously. I've already included a few of my pics in the "Natty Inspiration" thread, but I want to add some here since I mostly visit this forum.
My last contest was the 2010 NPC Team Universe, and I competed as a light heavyweight at 196lbs. The overall winner, Vaughan Ettienne, came from my class. Throughout the pre-judging comparisons, the judges had him and I standing right next to each other. So, I was a little disappointed when I came in 4th; but, looking back, I understand the placing. Hopefully next time, whenever that is, I'll do better.

I don't have a whole lot of photos from my teenage years, but I tried to do my best.
I started working out at 17, my junior year of high school. A year later, my classmates really took notice. But, I only casually lifted, and didn't feel any different. I knew nothing about supplements or bodybuilding, and never thought about how I looked compared to other people. In my mind, professional athletes (football and basketball players) were so much bigger, and I looked tiny! I ate pretty healthy, but didn't have a real understanding of nutrition or protein requirements. I only weighed 165lbs back then.

So, I kept at it, and a few months before my 20th birthday, I took a few photos to capture my progress. In the 3 years that elapsed from when I first started to when I took these photos, I learned a lot about my body and nutrition. Unlike when I was younger, I ate 200grams of protein/day; entirely from whole food, never any supplements, mostly tuna and chicken. I weighed 185lbs here.

Thursday, July 1st, 2008. 6 years passed, I made gradual progress, and weighed 215lbs in these photos.
I accumulated a lot of knowledge about the sport and history of bodybuilding. I didn't really have any favorite bodybuilders, but I was just generally impressed by anyone who followed their dreams and made it into the pro ranks. I remember seeing Ronnie Coleman's "The Unbelievable," and I thought to myself, "How cool would it be to meet that guy in real life?"
All of my friends and family knew I was into bodybuilding, and for years they were encouraging me to compete. But, I was just happy living the lifestyle and making myself better from one day to the next. It seemed like, everywhere I went, people noticed me. I worked at a health food store, and customers always came straight to me for help. It was a great ego boost, a confidence builder, and I was content with that.
Part of my inhibition, came from my lack of first hand knowledge about the sport. I had been following the boards, and thought I really knew what went on behind the scenes. The common perception was that the only way to be successful required taking "stuff." I accepted what other people claimed as fact, without any real evidence. Instead of finding out for myself, I bought into gossip and hearsay. I couldn't have been further from the truth. But, at the time, I was too blind to realize it.
It took a lot of convincing before I realized my potential...

After looking at pics and comparing myself to top amateur bodybuilders, I concluded that my physique could do well on stage. People had been saying this for years, but it never really set in. However, now my outlook had changed, and the time was right. So, after doing some research, I entered my first contest; the NPC Maryland State/ East Coast Classic. It was close to home, had a novice division, and offered national qualification. I knew it was rare to win an overall on the first try, but I decided to give it a shot; a former IFBB pro gave me a lot of positive feedback so I felt very confident.
To make a long story short, I didn't win the open class. I was awarded 4th place in the open light heavyweight division. But, as a consolation prize, I won the novice heavyweight and overall titles! The judges informed me that I really needed to work on my posing. They said it hurt my placing, but I did really well for my first show. So, I took their advice to heart, found a posing coach, and competed two weeks later at the Lenda Murray Championships, in Norfolk, VA. This time, I won 1st place in light heavyweight class and the overall. I now was officially nationally qualified.

The following year, I decided to try my hand in a natural bodybuilding organization. I wanted to be able to prove that, with the right genetics and work ethic, a lifetime natural could do well anywhere they choose to.
On Saturday, May 1st, 2010 I competed in the Musclemania Capital Tournament of Champions, in Washington D.C. Once again, my hard work paid off with another victory. I won the light heavyweight and overall titles. The overall trophy, was a replica of King Aurthur's Excalibur sword. Additionally, I became a Musclemania professional in the process.

My second to last contest of 2010 season was the Musclemania Universe in Miami, Florida. It marked a milestone as my first time competing as a professional, in what was only my 4th time ever competing. I'll spare you all the little details; but, needless to say, I faced a lot of obstacles by competing so far away from home. For instance, taking too much time away from work was an issue. Of course, where there's a will there's a way, and I was able to make it happen. My friends and family were also instrumental in making it a reality.
It was a fierce battle, featuring many well known names in the natural bodybuilding world. When it was all said and done, and the dust settled, I walked away a champion for the 4th consecutive time. I won my first pro show, and became the Musclemania Universe professional division champion; I beat out 15 other pros to do so. And, since It was a drug tested, I have the results to back it up.

My last, and final contest of the 2010 season, was the NPC Team Universe. And, if you read my first post in this thread, you already know how that went.
My reason for sharing this, is to let you guys know that success in bodybuilding really has absolutely nothing to do with drugs. You can build an impressive physique solely from training your butt off and eating with a purpose. Over the years, I can't tell you how many times people have given me dirty looks or stared in bewilderment when they saw the type and quantity of food I eat. Even my parents thought I was crazy! In fact, they probably still do.
I don't expect to ever be the biggest or the strongest. Sometimes, there are other factors that go into becoming the best. But, experience has taught me that my best can get me pretty far. But, who am I? I'm a regular person just like yourself. You don't have to take my word for it. Just ask an IFBB pro...
Like Phil Heath said, "Your best is good enough."
