    Powerlifting vs Strongman

    what kind of strength would you rather have, that of a powerlifter or strongman.

    Lets face it if you are in the real world, and something falls the strongman can pick it up

    The powerlifter(i doubt it)

    Powerlifters are 100 percent technique.

    Strongman have 100 percent raw strength.

    What kind of strength would you rather have

    I'd rather be an Olympic weightlifter. Now there's some power.

    Oly lifters = pound for pound most powerful human beings on the planet

    I probably watched it like 20 times, but not to verify, just out of amazement.

    some have olympic backgrounds. mikhail koklyaev being a great example

    this is how i look at it

    powerlifters=raw power/strict movements
    strongmen=functional power/all-around strength
    oly lifters=athletic power/explosiveness and quickness

    there are pros and cons but id say (only my opinion) strongmen are the overall strongest in that they train to move whatever object being used with whatever technique is most practical; whereas powerlifters/o-lifters (although very diff) have a strict form they must follow

    Yeah, totally agree. Strongmen are the most practical, do-it-all types of lifters which can make for an easy transition into anything such as powerlifting or olympic lifting
    Check out my YouTube channel for everything from powerlifting, to calisthenics, to healthy bodybuilding recipes:

    Current Lifts / Goal Lifts

    Deadlift - 425 lbs / 455 lbs

    Squat - 335 lbs / 405 lbs

    Bench - 235 lbs / 275 lbs
