It took me 2 years to get from 175 - 315.
Just keep getting after it, and you'll get there for sure. It took forever for me to get from 295-315, but i stuck with it and it paid off. Having a workout partner also helps, because at least in my perspective they push you further than you can push yourself.Get Big or Die Training - Only the Strong Survive

No reason why it can't, but we are all different. It took me several years beyond that to get to 405. In hindsight I wish I hadn't been as concerned about 1RM on bench. It was a waste of effort to push it constantly and my shoulder is now a mess. It's likely I'll not go over 315 again barring some medical miracle. But you gotta find your motivation where you can. Good luck.

It took me about a year to get to 325 with a dirty, duuuurty bulk. I cut way down and it took me 2 years to do it while keeping my weight under 190.

Took me about 3 years of lifting to reach 1 rep max of 300 lbs, could have got their quicker if I focused more on increasing my bench. Got it up to 320 and realized someone my size(naturally skinny) probably shouldn't be benching that much, shoulders can give out at any time.

I've asked these questions too OP. I'm heading for 405 right now... But, internally, I realize that I'm not going to STOP working out, so I'll just get there nice and safely and get there when I get there.

Well.. since I've gotten back to lifting (with muscle memory, previous PR being 225x6 which put me around 260 projected 1 RM, had hit 250 a few years prior when repping 225x3-4) I'm projected over 300 in about 3 1/2 months. When I started back after a several month hiatus I hit 185x11, and today I hit 275x4 for 2 sets.
I've been lifting off and on for 7 years though. The first 3 years were the most consistent, in which I went from 135 starting- 185 1 year in- 235 2 years in- 250 3 years in. I could have done better if I knew better about training and diet. After that point the longest I worked out was about 3 months with several months in between each routine back in the gym.
Now I'm back in for good and I'm seeing way better gains than ever. I will be going for 315 at the end of this routine.Alabama Crimson Tide

Everyone has different strength levels. When I started I was in the upper 220's. Naturally I could rep 250 for around 8 times. A buddy that was like 260 started out only able to rep 185. I don't exactly know when I hit 300 as I was repping 315 before I ever maxed. I think maybe if I had maxed right from the get go I would have been close.
WTF!!?? DID YOU HEAR THAT? THE WEIGHTS ARE TALKING SH@T!

A few months?! Holy ****
I think one obvious conclusion can be drawn from this thread: It varies dramatically from person to person. Some people need less than a year to get to 300 whereas others might not be able to hit 300 in their entire lives.
One thing I know for certain, though. You can always improve on what you have. Even if you add 5 pounds to your bench every month, that's 60 pounds in a year. A great gain! Can you do better? Go for it!
